Milwaukee AHEC is sharing an opportunity from our AHEC partner, Northeastern Wisconsin Area Health Education Center (NEWAHEC).

NEWAHEC is hiring a full‑time AHEC Center Director to provide executive leadership, supervise AHEC staff, and oversee statewide programs including AHEC Scholars, Community Health Internship Program, and Community Health Immersion.

This role plays a critical part in advancing health education, workforce development, and community‑driven solutions.

📍 Based in Manitowoc, WI

What does healing look like when it’s rooted in community? 💙

Eight AHEC Scholars from MPH, MD, PharmD, and Nursing programs participated in the Milwaukee Mosaic Community Health Immersion, traveling through Milwaukee and Waukesha to learn from community leaders working at the intersection of public health, substance use disorder, recovery, and social justice. 🏙️🤝From observing Drug Treatment Court to engaging with organizations advancing equity and resilience, this immersive experience deepened our understanding of community‑driven care and the role health professionals play in supporting healing.

Grateful for the meaningful conversations and connections made throughout this immersion. 🌱🧠
