Lisa Hillary is the clinical director and owner of Hillary Counseling. As a therapist with over 15 years of experience, Lisa is passionate about helping people make positive and lasting life changes. Her goal is to provide clients with the knowledge, tools and skills to create the lives they have always dreamed of living. Lisa offers a holistic therapy approach, welcoming and incorporating all aspects of the human experience: mental, emotional, physical and spiritual.
Lisa works with a broad range of clientele, including adolescents and adults, from different lifestyles and orientations, formulating therapy to best fit their needs.
Lisa helps her clients focus on identifying obstacles that are causing them to feel stuck and offers a path of guidance for making more satisfying choices.
As a therapist, she is warm, open, encouraging and direct. Lisa combines her experience, education, creativity, and sense of humor with a down-to-earth, realistic approach to counseling.

EDUCATION
Lisa completed her graduate training, a Masterโs of Social Work, MSW, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She holds licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, in the state of Wisconsin and is an active member of her professional industry association. Lisa maintains regular clinical supervision and professional development to enhance the quality of her work.
EXPERIENCE
Before starting Hillary Counseling in 2009, Lisa began her career as a Clinical Social Worker at Rogers Memorial Hospital in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. She spent over 5 years working in different levels of care, including: inpatient, partial, and residential programs, each with different populations.
At Rogers, the majority of her training was spent working with adolescents and adults who struggled with eating disorders and co-occurring illnesses, such as: depression/anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), body dysmorphia, low self-esteem and boundary issues.

Maudsley Family Therapy, University of Chicago-Illinois
Trauma, Levels 1 and 2, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
Gottman Method Couples Counseling, Levels 1 and 2, Chicago, IL
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, University of Wisconsin-Madison
Theory and Practice of Yoga Therapy, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
Her background and experiences enable her to be an extremely effective therapist who is comfortable counseling diverse groups of people.
