✨ Exciting news at The Therapeutic Workshop! ✨

We’re really happy to welcome Amanda Wright to the TTW team. Amanda is an art therapist who also brings training in sandtray therapy, offering creative and developmentally supportive ways for kids to explore feelings, process experiences, and build resilience.

Amanda will be working with kids ages 8 and up, along with teens and adults, and currently has some evening availability for new clients.

At The Therapeutic Workshop, we believe therapy should feel human and accessible. Amanda’s creative, thoughtful approach fits beautifully with the kind of work we care about here.

If you’re looking for support for your child (or yourself), you can fill out the contact form on our website to get started with a free 30-minute consultation.

Emotion Creatures — Creative Commons (April)

What would one of your emotions look like if it were a creature?

At our next Creative Commons, we’re sculpting weird little clay emotion creatures and getting curious about what our feelings might look like if they had a body, personality, or story.

No art skills needed.
Just curiosity, clay, and a room full of creative humans.

🗓 Wednesday April 15
⏰ 6:30–8:30 PM
📍 The Therapeutic Workshop — Bay View

This event is free, but space is limited.
Sign up through our website → Free Community Events → Creative Commons.

Come make some monsters with us.

Creative Commons is a community creativity event — not therapy and not art therapy.

Thank you, Bay View. 🖤
Last night’s Self-Warmth: Kindling Resilience, Resistance, & Solidarity gathering with Alli & Pam was something special.
The vibe in the room felt different this time—calmer, deeper—and the conversations that unfolded were really rich. People shared that they left with actual tools for the things we explored together, and several folks mentioned how balanced the evening felt between content, movement, and discussion.
That’s exactly what these community offerings are meant to be:
a place to pause, reconnect with ourselves and each other, and leave a little more resourced than when we arrived.
Huge gratitude to Alli & Pam for creating and holding such thoughtful space, and to everyone who showed up and helped make the room what it was.
And good news—we’re already planning the next one for April. Stay tuned. 🖤🔥

Somewhere along the way, a lot of us were taught that play is for kids.

That being playful is unproductive. That joy has to be earned. That if something does not lead to a measurable outcome, it is a waste of time.

But losing play can cost us a lot. It can leave us more stressed, more disconnected, less creative, and less alive.

Our newest blog is about play, adulthood, and mental health — and the way so many adults have been pushed to believe that rest, creativity, curiosity, and delight are somehow less important than productivity.

At The Therapeutic Workshop, we believe play is not a distraction from healing. For many people, it is part of the path back to themselves.

You can read the full blog here: https://www.thetherapeuticworkshop.com/post/why-play-is-important-for-adults-and-mental-health

Many adults have been taught that play is a waste of time. We are told that play is for children, while adulthood is supposed to be about work, productivity, and responsibility. But the truth is that play is important for adults, and losing touch with play can have a real impact on mental health.At....

🦇 NOW ENROLLING: VAMPIRE TTRPG THERAPY GROUP (ADULTS) 🦇
Bay View • Thursdays 7–10pm • Starts 4/9/26 • 10 weeks

We’re officially accepting new members for our brand new TTRPG therapy group focused on befriending your nervous system.

If you’ve ever thought:
“Why do I get activated so fast?”
“Why do I shut down?”
“Why do I feel stuck in survival mode?”
…this group is built for that.

What you’ll get:
🎲 Beginner-friendly tabletop play (we teach you)
🧠 Real tools for stress, overwhelm, and shutdown
⚡ Practice staying grounded in the moment
🫶 Small group support (5–6 adults)

We’ll be using Vampire: The Masquerade (V5) to bring “safe intensity” — high-stakes story, social tension, temptation, and connection — so you can notice what’s happening inside and practice choosing what comes next.

🚨 Spots are limited.
✅ Scan the code or fill out the contact form on our website for all the details and to join.
