Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A man who taught us that service, justice, and compassion are powerful tools for change.

At Samads House, we carry Dr. King’s vision forward right here in Milwaukee by meeting people where they are and believing in second chances. Every day, we are committed to:

• Providing safe shelter and supportive housing for women transitioning out of addiction

• Offering IOP, therapy, and clinical support to promote healing and long-term recovery

• Hosting outreach events that educate the community on Narcan, harm reduction, and overdose prevention

• Distributing food, supplies, and care to our homeless neighbors with dignity and respect

Dr. King reminded us that “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?”
Today—and every day—we answer that call through service, love, and action.

RISE Drug Free MKE is boldly stepping into the new year with a renewed commitment to combat substance misuse and its devastating effects on our community. Our vision is to bring together resources, wisdom, talents, and passion to create a healthy, happy community. It is time for us to not only raise awareness but to take decisive action that resonates from our youth to our elders. The coalition is dedicated to its mission to provide urgently needed education, promote inclusivity, and elevate every corner of Milwaukee County.
