SunSeeker MKE LLC is a link to transform and impact Queer & Trans Black and Brown people through muliti-issue based direct service and capacity building. The growth of planted seeds by black bodies in the out cry of crisis and joyless moments, a mandate to resistance, a response to the call of “What else is there?” We are made up of Black Trans abolitionists, organizers, healers, sibl

ings and hope, dedicated to liberation by any means necessary. Our mission: Sun-Seeker MKE Collective's mission is to build the communal base power and capacities of Black queer and trans people & youth in Milwaukee through multi-issue based direct service and capacity building within abolitionist praxis. Sun Seekers MKE LLC was birthed in 2021 out of the frustration, anger, tears, hopes and fears of Black Trans & Queer abolitionists in Milwaukee, in the wake of the Minnesota uprisings in 2020 and historical oppression of queer and Trans people & Black people across the diaspora. Our Liberation begins with collective power, political education, non-hierarchical Interdependence, & self determination. We will no longer sit and take the abuse and harm this city and systems have caused us. Through transformative and transparent community power building and collective learning we are committed to creating a world that sustains the futures, life, culture, joys, rights of Black & Brown Trans and queer people, and other minoritized bodies. We will strengthen our people by strengthening our connection with liberation and each other to transform ourselves, our communities, and our world.

Misogynoir has no home here or in our society. If we are to achieve Black liberation, then we must condemn patriarchy that is the root for the violence we are subjected to daily.

Our hearts are heavy with grief for Nancy Metayer Brown, Barbara Deer, Cerina Fairfax, the children murdered in Shreveport on Sunday; and all those whose names we may never know but whose lives ended because of patriarchy and gender violence.

In order to realize a vision of survivor justice that doesn’t rely on the carceral state, we have to prioritize building community-based violence prevention and intervention solutions. Our Vision for Black Lives demands we end the violence Black women, children, q***r people & gender-expansive people and men are experiencing within society.

We demand this administration release the much needed culturally specific VAWA funding for Black, Latinx, API and Indigenous communities, fund sexual assault hotlines, and an increase in funding for the domestic violence federal CallBlackline.

Six years ago, during our first open farm for community on a beautiful Autumn 2020 day, the sun shined a lil’ brighter because of this human’s smile, warmth, compassion, and kindness. Today, five years later, the remembrance of how they hoped for change, for all people to be connected to land and cared for with dignity, flows through my mind. The recollections of conversations via facetime, whilst I milked goats in the barn at night, as a group of us giddily chattered about creating that change throughout southern WI, still sets my soul ablaze. And serves as a reminder our people, our Littles, deserve to be reconnected to rural land in deep, meaningful, peaceful ways just as much as they deserve access to farm fresh firsts… that creating bridges for the rural/urban divide are crucial. They made the community better with their presence and care. The tenderness in their hug still lingers on my shoulders… we’ve come so far, beloved, and will keep going, carrying your compassionate spirit with us along the way… you are ever missed, loved always.

Take care of each other y’all. Truly, I say, take care of each other. And know you are so very loved in the most radical, nourishing kinda way!
