Combining journaling , poetry , and symbolism , participants will create an image in layers . We will learn about encaustic painting techniques - how to blend words and wax , color and images to document our personal journeys .

The United Community Center is seeking an Art Therapist to work with individuals and groups in a variety of settings , including : children’s day treatment , AODA , and the elder community and dementia units .

The Art Therapist will work in close collaboration with the medical and psychological treatment teams . They will employ the creative process of artmaking to improve and enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of clients , cultivating connections between the clients , care team and community .
