Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) can be used by anyone for anyone regardless of their age. However, when using an AED on an infant, there are a few things rescuers need to know. For one, children require a lower level of shock than adults. Because of this fact, pediatric pads can be used and, depending on the child's age and weight will have a different pad placement protocol than adults.

💓 Her Heart Matters - today and every day! Today is National Wear Red Day, which shines a light on the importance of being prepared and knowing how to do CPR, specifically female CPR. Women are less likely to survive sudden cardiac arrest than men due to rescuers' fear and lack of knowledge on how to properly perform female CPR- but this can change with the proper education and training tools.
