The Cream City Medical Society

The Cream City Medical Society Cream City Medical Society (CCMS) is a local chapter of the National Medical Association. Herron.

The members are dedicated doctoral level health care professionals including medical doctors, pharmacists, dentists and registered nurses. The Cream City Medical Society (CCMS) was named after the cream-colored bricks used to construct many of Milwaukee’s finest buildings. For the CCMS these bricks represent strength, beauty and the ability to weather many storms

The Cream City Medical Society was established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1927, under the leadership of Dr. Richard Herron. Dr. Herron was the son of Milwaukee’s first African American physician, Dr. Allen L. The Cream City Medical Society is the first and only Milwaukee-based 501(c) (3) organization of African American physicians. It is a charter chapter of the National Medical Association, which is the nation’s oldest, and largest association representing African American physicians.

As the outgoing president of Cream City Medical Society, Milwaukee’s local chapter of the National Medical Society, I’ve enjoyed and will treasure the past two years of serving in this capacity.

I would like to congratulate both President elect Dr. Kevin Izard, MD and Vice- President elect Dr. Alonzo Walker, MD to their new positions.

I will continue to serve as an active member of this awesome organization as a change agent for our continued mission of advocating for access to health care for at risk minority populations.

Also, our organizational mission entails maintaining the established pipeline & mentoring of future minority physicians and other minority youth interested in the various health care fields.

Dr. Annette Stokes, MD
