We have an immediate vacancy for a Resident Assistant/Caregiver at the Genesis Behavioral Services Residential Treatment Facility at 304 Otter Avenue, Oshkosh, WI 54901. We provide services to clients with behavioral health issues. All clients are ambulatory. Duties include general office work, medication reminders, helping clients to schedule appointments with their psychotherapist, assisting them to participate in zoom psychoeducation meetings and therapy sessions, grocery shopping, accompanying them on outings, food prep, and providing companionship.

Matt Talbot Recovery Services, Inc., sister-company of Genesis Behavioral Services, is now hiring for part-time Transitional Living Monitors (Site Checkers) to work flexible hours (approximately 1-3 hours per day, 7-21 hours per week) at our Transitional Living Properties located throughout the State of Wisconsin.

Perform assigned site checks per week at designated TLP location(s). These checks may be split between multiple staff members per location.
Site checks to include the following:
Complete inspection of the physical space to ensure residents are in compliance with House Rules and Extended Supervision terms set by the Department of Corrections (DOC); including verifying they are within property limits, performing household maintenance, participating in lawn care and snow removal responsibilities, visitation policies, non-possession of contraband and maintenance of a drug, alcohol, and crime-free living environment.
Ensure appropriate supplies are stocked.
Create electronic reports based on observations for each site check (see details below).
Meet with Program Director on a regular basis via phone, video conferencing, or in-person to report on the on-going TLP operations at given location(s).
Complete required documentation, which includes:
Incident reports on all program rule or law violations.
Record daily summaries of resident interactions, resident consequences issued, su***de watch and related issues in communication log.
Complete site check log each day to include exact time of all site checks and whether there was face-to-face contact with the offender(s) during each checks
Maintain thorough knowledge of offender(s) criminal, family, mental health, employment, and substance abuse histories in order to assist in comprehensive supervision within the community.
Assist Director in ensuring residents are maintaining sufficient food items for three meals per day.
Collect, inventory, and secure property of residents who are unsuccessfully discharged within 24 hours of such discharge.
Hold accountability to TLP Director. Supervision is ongoing and occurs through individual consultations, in services, departmental meetings, and as-needed when requested by the DOC.

A minimum of one (1) years' experience working with correctional clients preferred.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Caregivers provide 24 hours/7 days a week services at Community-Based Residential Facilities (CBRFs) in the city of Waukesha for clients diagnosed with emotional disturbances and severe and persistent mental health conditions. The role of the caregiver is to provide direct care and support to the residents while maintaining the cleanliness of the CBRF with the goal of providing quality care in a home-like setting for our residents. Caregivers specifically provide support for each resident’s individual recovery goals and mental health needs in the areas of daily living skills, hygiene, culinary skills, personal growth, and overall wellness and enrichment.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

Supervise resident behaviors and activities at all times, monitor physical and emotional well-being, and respond to all resident needs and concerns.

Record observations regarding resident behavior, mental status, and care; report observations to treatment staff; provide input for treatment plans; and implement portions of the treatment plan according to level of expertise under direction of clinical staff. All documentation will be completed in electronic medical record or designated logs.

Direct or assist residents with personal hygiene care: bathing, shaving, hair care, etc.

Direct or assist residents with meal preparation and maintaining cleanliness of living space while ensuring the safety of staff and residents.

Administer medications and maintain records in accordance with specified procedures.

Ensure medications are maintained by completing medication counts and notifying appropriate parties when medications are low.

Transport residents to medical appointments as needed.

Assist with planning recreational individual and group activities for residents.

Supervise visitation activities and monitor behavior during visits.

Responsible for keeping work area clean and in order by keeping floors dry, storerooms tidy, corridors clear, properly disposing of waste, and regularly washing equipment.

Follow all standard/universal precautions and sanitation procedure when coming in contact with bodily fluids and/or food.

Transport and direct residents and visitors to safety in emergencies such as fire or severe weather.

Complete and maintain CBRF training and trauma informed care training according to Waukesha County BHD requirements.

Complete all delegated tasks and duties assigned by supervisor/program manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma OR GED equivalent

Valid Wisconsin Driver's License

A Criminal Background Check is required for this position subject to Wisconsin law.

Annual TB test and influenza vaccine.

Record of immunizations including receiving MMR and varicella (chickenpox) or titer showing immunity.

Experience working with individuals in a mental health setting – preferred

Basic computer skills

CBRF certifications

Passion for caring for others, compassionate, assertive, and use of critical thinking skills.

Genesis Behavioral Services is currently recruiting for a full-time Substance Use Disorder (SUD) / Mental Health Counselor to work at our Community Based Residential Facilities (CBRFs). Counselors are responsible for providing individual and group counseling, case management, and maintaining oversight of participants in our designated AODA Residential Treatment program locations that work in collaboration with the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division and USDC.

Responsibilities:

Provides assessment and client screening within established time-lines.
Discusses and completes case management assessment incorporating information previously gathered through the referral packet, client application, and collateral resources.
Monitors and coordinates performance of each of the client's identified needs through an individualized treatment plan.
Assists the client in achieving objectives and maximizing independence and productivity through support and training in uses of personal community resources.
Reinforces and serves as a role model/teacher/liaison for implementing concepts and objectives identified by the team.
Promotes skills to maintain a drug-free lifestyle.
Reinforces and encourages client's progress and utilization of the community resources and support systems.
Assists in monitoring and supervision of clients in the facility.
Provides assessment and treatment information to treatment team on an ongoing basis.
Contributes to the development and revision of each client’s treatment plan according to established guidelines.
Participates in treatment plan review staffing for all clients.
Documents clearly and concisely all assessments, treatment provided, and major communication regarding clients, in appropriate format. Maintain current and complete client records.
Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator/Director.

Requirements:

Masters Degree
Licensed by the State of WI as a Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC-IT, SAC, or CSAC) and Mental Health Counselor (LPC-IT, LPC, APSW, etc.)
Experience utilizing cognitive behavioral methodology a plus
Trained in Motivational Interviewing.
Documented completed training in an AODA curriculum
