We've all heard, "That's family, you have to forgive them and come together."
But here's the truth: forgiveness does not equal reunification. You can forgive folks without showing up to the function like nothing happened. Reunify if it feels right. Keep distance if you need it.
Both choices can be healthy. Both choices can be healing.
