Our Story
We are a peer led support group for those with depression and bipolar disorder. You must have a diagnosed mood disorder to be a member. DBSA support group meetings are free of charge, no pre-registration is required, and are open to the public. The Group appreciates donations to defray meeting costs such as refreshments, newsletters, or other group-related purchases. Confidentiality is one of the most important aspects of our support group. No one may ever reveal information about the people attending the group or what is said during the meeting. This means that what you say here stays here. We do ask that you sign our attendance sheet (although it is optional to do so). The sheet is used to gather demographic information. We do not publicize or sell/rent group membership lists. The DBSA Greater Milwaukee support group is for adults who have depression, bipolar, or mood disorders. Family members and loved ones are also welcome to attend and gather in separate groups. DBSA chapters across the country provide services equally to all persons in need, and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, disability, marital status, veteran status, or any other irrelevant criteria.
Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at Independence First, located at 540 S. 1st St. The meeting goes from 6:30 to 8:30.
