🌐 Another GDC week in the books, and plenty to reflect on!

We kicked things off in Los Angeles with a Women in Localization networking event we were proud to sponsor, which brought the industry together to celebrate the women shaping games today.

Yes, this year’s GDC felt different. With a bit less crowding, the pace was more relaxed than usual. In fact, conversations had more space to breathe, whether in Moscone Center hallways or across the many events and meetups happening throughout the city.

It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout at the IGDA Loc Mixer and the live Authentic Voices panel. Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation. And for those who missed the panel, it was recorded and will be available in the GDC Vault soon.

Now that the team is back home, there is plenty to unpack. Until next time!

From Samus to Lara and Ciri, female protagonists have moved into the spotlight, carrying stories with depth and agency. In our latest blog, we explore how their evolution on screen connects to how thoughtful writing and localization help preserve that agency in every language.

🎮 EMEA is often treated as one region, but for players, every detail counts. A name, an accent, even a menu layout can feel just right or completely off. In today’s blog, we explore how regional differences shape localization strategy, and why success here depends on more than just language.
