There is so much power in our thoughts and a positive mindset.
But the idea that we can think our way to a more regulated nervous system completely ignores one important piece of the puzzle: the body
The body holds onto memories at a cellular level, which means sensations and responses can arise before the mind even has a chance to process them.
This is why you can logically know that you’re safe, but your body is still responding as if you’re in danger.
No amount of affirmations will relieve your tight chest, your tense shoulders, your clenched jaw.
Mindset may change how you think about something, but somatic work changes how your body responds to it.
Until you’ve allowed your body to express and create new physical experiences, you’re going to keep responding in the same way, no matter how much awareness you have.
This is the work we do inside my 1:1 Breathwork Sessions. I create a space for you to slow down and listen to what your body is trying to tell you, to express in whatever way it needs. So instead of suppressing, you can finally feel what your body has been wanting you to all along.
Through this connection to your body, your perception shifts over time. You feel more grounded, regulated and clear.
