Cannabis prohibition continues to disproportionately harm Black communities, even as legalization becomes more pervasive. As businesses and states profit hand over fist, the barriers to entry Black entrepreneurs face gaining access to this market are compounded by existing racial wealth disparities.

We’re a small business. We don’t have massive capital or the political power to reshape problems that have plagued this industry since it began. But we do benefit from it, and we do have control over how we operate every day. We do have a voice.

Community is reciprocal. Black patrons, artists, and collaborators have helped define what Canni is. That means we have a responsibility to show up thoughtfully in return.
