Gliihc - Youth Empowerment Project

Gliihc - Youth Empowerment Project Services & programs for Native youth that promote connection, success, culture, empowerment & more!

The Substance Abuse and Suicide Prevention (SASP) Youth Empowerment Project serves Native youth ages 8-24 years. This project looks to promote awareness and provide education on substance abuse and suicide prevention through project activities. The youth project fosters empowerment, increases resilience, promotes leadership skills, and supports family engagement through community service activities, project activities, and youth/family activities. Our program incorporates the importance of a holistic approach to health and wellness. Come join in for youth-focused topics, plan and participate in youth related activities/events, and to socialize and meet other native youth! We also established the Academic, Cultural & Physical Activity Enrichment Program, which serves Native youth ages 7-19 years. This program is operated in the Ignace Youth Resource Center and offers a youth friendly space for homework help, studying, tutoring, educational games, and computer use. The program runs year long and the hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00-7:00pm. Please call for more information and to register at 414-383-9526 x5050, or smattson@gliihc.net.
