You’ve heard of Leg 🦵 Day and Arm 💪🏻 Day, but have you ever heard of Brain 🧠 Day? On Brain Day, Fanno Creek residents gather together and exercise their minds. During a recent Brain Day, residents completed fall-themed crosswords and word puzzles. Everyone pitched in to help each other solve the clues and complete the puzzles. Brain work and teamwork are a great combination!

Fanno Creek residents are always learning and growing. In addition to the very popular language classes offered within the community, residents now have the opportunity to learn calligraphy. Calligraphy, a word of Greek origin, is made up of two roots, kallos meaning beauty and graphein meaning write. With their efforts, residents are well on their way to writing beautifully.

Fanno Creek residents learned all about Día de los Mu***os. This November 1st holiday, widely celebrated in Mexico and by individuals of Mexican descent around the world, is a day to honor family and friends who have passed away. Residents had an opportunity to make La Catrina, the iconic symbol of the holiday, first made famous by Mexican artist Jose Guadalupe Posada and later artist Diego Rivera. This mixed-medium art project involved coloring, watercolors, and cutting before mounting the forms on cardboard to create unique art pieces.

Oatfield Estates residents recently enjoyed a concert by a local band called the Faded Couch Covers. This band, featuring a guitarist and cellist, performed alternative rock covers and other familiar tunes. It was a great show!
