Fanno Creek residents had a great outing to Bauman’s Farm and Garden in Gervais, Oregon. Residents enjoyed shopping in the market, viewing the beautiful Christmas trees and greenery, and eating a delicious lunch at the deli.

Oatfield Estates had some very special visitors. These talented musicians played Christmas carols on the piano for everyone to enjoy. After their performance, they were treated to hot chocolate flavored smoothies. Thank you to Amy and her students for spreading holiday cheer in our community.

December’s Culture Club meeting transported Oatfield Estates residents to beautiful and snowy Europe, where they enjoyed a virtual tour of some charming German Christmas markets followed by a reading of traditional Icelandic folktales, including the story of the “Yule Cat.” Frohe Weihnachten! Gleðileg jól!

The Oatfield Estates elves were busy during our Ornament Making Extravaganza. In addition to designing the perfect bling for our community trees, residents snacked on homemade donuts and sipped gingerbread smoothies. It’s the most wonderful (and delicious) time of the year.

Congratulations to Eloisa and Alexia for being recognized as Fall/Winter 2025 Vanda Visionaries.

Eloisa is a constant source of support for the Fanno Creek community. She is a dedicated and consistent employee and exceptional worker who takes great pride in keeping things clean and tidy for our residents. She is constantly on the go–always staying busy throughout her shift. She is a committed team member, attending every team gathering and celebration, and a valuable asset to our community.

Alexia joined the Vanda Health organization as a float administrator and was immediately put on an interim administrator assignment at Oatfield Estates. Since that time, she has filled three different administrative roles at Oatfield Estates, including interim Campus Director. Alexis approaches every new assignment with fearless professionalism. She has seamlessly taken over all administrative tasks, including scheduling, filling in shifts, connecting with direct care staff, caring for our residents and families, and collaborating with the leadership team. She is a strong, polished, and firm leader who creates a positive work culture. Alexia is an important point person and sounding board everyone can rely on during times of transition.

Congratulations to our Fall/Winter 2025 Vanda Visionaries! Danielle, Araceli, Leticia, Eloisa, Julie, and Alexia lead with care, collaboration, agility, integrity, fun, growth, and excellence every day. We are grateful for all that they do for Vanda Health residents.

Elite Care residents love BINGO so, of course, we had to celebrate BINGO’s birthday month with a party (and some BiNGO)!

Did you know that the inspiration for modern-day BINGO can be traced back to an Italian game called “Lo Giuoco del Lotto D’Italia” from the 1500s? What we know as BINGO began in the United States in 1929, but it was first called BEANO in reference to the beans used as markers to cover the winning numbers. New York toy salesman, Edwin S. Lowe renamed BEANO to BINGO, began producing BINGO cards, and, as they say, the rest is history!
