Today we had the honor of joining East Texas Nurse Honor Guard to pay tribute to Tamra E Royall Redic, LVN. Tamra obtained her LVN in 1982, she worked at Athens Care Center, was on the IV team at the Dallas VA, then spent her final years caring for pediatric patients with Angels at Home Health Care. Thank you Tamra for your years of service and dedication.

Today we had the privilege of paying tribute to Deborah Faye Jones, RN. A graduate of Northwestern State University. Deborah dedicated her career to nursing, finding her calling as a peritoneal dialysis nurse until retiring in 2009. She continued compassionate care for both her husband and her mother during their final years. Thank you to the family and Corley Funeral Home of Gilmer for inviting us today, it was an honor to pay tribute to Deborah.

Today we relieved Patsy Cleo Goodman, RN of her duties with a Nightingale Tribute. Patsy began her career as a candy striper in 1966 at Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler, Texas. She obtained her LVN in 1970 and achieved her RN in 1990. She retired from Mother Francis after 23 years and then enjoyed travel nursing with her husband and their RV all over Texas for an additional 23 years.

We received a request for information, a retired RN had passed in our area. The family is taking her to Lincoln, Nebraska for service and burial. I was able to contact Nebraska Nurse Honor Guard of Lincoln, I spoke to Patsy, and she has already contacted the family! The family called back with heartfelt thanks and I'm thankful we have the National Nurse Honor Guard.
