Our 10,000 Members are the men and women who work in the Meat, Deli & Seafood departments of Union stores across LI & NYC and are predominantly in the Retail and Wholesale Food Service, Distribution, Delivery, and Healthcare Industries. Together we are one of the largest and most active unions in the NY and Long Island area.

Contract negotiations got loud yesterday when backup arrived.

A support group of fellow Local 342 members showed up to voice their support for their brothers and sisters in King Kullen who are fighting for a FAIR contract with REAL wages!

A FIGHT FOR ONE IS A FIGHT FOR ALL! 🚨‼️

Today fellow Local 342 members showed up to support their 342 brothers & sisters working in King Kullen!

Meet Ross, a Local 342 shop steward who gave his time to make some noise and support fellow members.

Ross knows a thing or two about fighting for a fair contract. In 2024 he sat on the negotiations committee for his Contract bargaining with Stop & Shop.

That wasn’t an easy fight, but, was well worth it in the end!

Patience, perseverance and persistence will win once again!!

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Local 342 retiree, Shirley Turney.

Shirley was an active retiree, executive board member and volunteer.

She was a proud Union supporter, a loyal retiree and dedicated friend.

We will miss her dearly.

We hate to “reign” on King Kullens parade, BUT, you do not get to make our members feel pressured or threatened by your direction without the Union getting involved… 🛑

King Kullen Management was quick to change their tune when confronted by Union Representatives during a recent store visit.

After receiving a call from members in King Kullen regarding comments made by company management, Union representatives headed into the shop immediately to address the situation.

Despite what company management may think, disrespect and empty threats will NOT win over your employees, neither will your behavior at the bargaining table. 👎🏼👎🏽👎🏾👎🏿

Local 342 members in King Kullen continue to fight for a fair contract!

Not only is this a skilled trade, this is dangerous work. The equipment and tools needed to provide items in the meat and seafood departments comes along with the responsibility of how to use them properly and safely.

Our members take pride in their work and are happy to provide for their customers and community.

Local 342 members continue to respect their trade and their worth, unlike King Kullen who continues to show 0 respect to those who keep their stores stocked and running!
