*UPDATE*

We’re finally seeing some improvement in road conditions. To allow a little extra time for things to thaw and for safer travel, all clinic locations will open at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow, except Santo Family Health and Possum Kingdom Family Health, which will remain closed.

This delayed opening is to help ensure our staff and patients can get to and from their appointments safely.

As always, if you need emergency care, the ER is open 24/7. Please continue to use caution on the roads, and thank you for your patience as we work through this winter weather together.

We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Physician Anesthesiologists Week | January 25–31, 2026

This week we recognize Physician Anesthesiologists Week, honoring the physicians who play a critical role in patient safety, comfort, and care before, during, and after surgery.

At Palo Pinto General Hospital, we are proud to celebrate Dr. Kelly Matlock, our physician anesthesiologist, whose leadership and expertise help ensure safe, high-quality care for our patients every day.

As part of this week, we want to share a special shout-out from the Surgery Team:

Shout-Out to an Exceptional Anesthesiologist – Dr. Kelly Matlock

“We are incredibly fortunate to work alongside Dr. Kelly Matlock, our anesthesiologist who exemplifies what true leadership in healthcare looks like. She is the rare kind of leader who leads confidently while remaining a genuine team player—approachable, thoughtful, and always willing to listen.

Her strong decision-making skills and sharp critical thinking consistently bring calm and clarity to even the most complex situations. She has a way of balancing professionalism with a touch of quirkiness and humor that puts both patients and colleagues at ease (often with a coffee in hand).

What truly sets her apart is the way she treats her patients—with the same care, respect, and compassion she would want for herself or her own family. That mindset is evident in every interaction and every clinical decision she makes.

Having previously served as Chief of Staff, she brings experience, insight, and integrity to everything she does, while never losing her kindness or authenticity. We are grateful for her leadership, her heart, and the positive energy she brings to our team every day.”

This week, we thank Dr. Matlock for her dedication to our patients, our surgical teams, and our community.💚

The roads are still pretty slick, so to keep our staff and patients safe, all clinic locations including Physical Therapy, Wound Care, and Urgent Care will be closed on Monday, January 26.

At this time, we plan to open at noon on Tuesday at all locations, but we’ll continue to keep a close eye on the weather and road conditions.

If you need emergency care, the ER is open 24/7.

We’ll keep you up to date if anything changes. Stay safe and take care.

As winter weather moves into Palo Pinto County, we want to take a moment to check in on our community. Forecasts are calling for snow and icy conditions, and we know that can bring a little extra worry.

At this time, Palo Pinto General Hospital plans to operate as normal. Palo Pinto Wound Care will be closed tomorrow. Please note that Urgent Care will close early at 5:00 pm on Friday, January 23, to help ensure our staff can get home safely.

Our Emergency Room is always open. If you have an emergency, please don’t hesitate to seek care. Your health and safety come first.

At the same time, we encourage everyone to stay home and off the roads if possible. Icy conditions can develop quickly, so please only travel if you absolutely need to.

We will continue to monitor the weather closely and will share updates if there are any additional changes. Thank you for looking out for one another, and please stay safe and warm.
