The Green Witch and the Moon

A Green Witch is someone who works closely with nature, plants, and the cycles of the Earth. She draws magic from the natural world—herbs, flowers, stones, and the changing seasons.

One of the most important practices of a Green Witch is charging herbs under the moon. The moon holds powerful energy, and each phase has a special influence:
• New Moon: Use this phase to plant new intentions, cleanse herbs, or prepare for new beginnings.
• Waxing Moon: Herbs charged now grow energy, strength, and growth in spells and potions.
• Full Moon: The full moon gives herbs maximum power—perfect for healing, love, protection, or any ritual where energy needs to peak.
• Waning Moon: Herbs charged under the waning moon are good for banishing, releasing, or removing negativity.

To charge herbs, a Green Witch often leaves them outside or on a windowsill where moonlight can touch them. Sometimes she will place crystals nearby or whisper intentions to amplify the magic.

Becoming a Green Witch

Becoming a Green Witch is a journey of connection with the natural world:
1. Learn about plants and herbs – Understand their energies, properties, and how they can be used in spells or healing.
2. Follow the cycles of nature – Pay attention to the moon, the seasons, and the energy of each day.
3. Practice mindfulness and observation – Notice the patterns in nature and in yourself. Magic comes from awareness and intention.
4. Start small rituals – Charge herbs, create protective talismans, or craft simple potions to strengthen your connection to nature.
5. Respect all living things – A Green Witch honors plants, animals, and the Earth, using magic to work with life, not against it.

A Green Witch doesn’t need fancy tools—her power comes from love for the Earth, patience, and intention. Over time, this connection grows stronger, and her magic becomes as natural as the wind, the rain, and the sunlight.

Tonight is a New Moon in Aquarius heralding in a powerful new start. This New Moon is truly a new birth of life, inspiration and ideas. It is energetically connected to our personal evolution, like a butterfly coming out of it's chrysalis. The earth is changing now all around us as it wakes to the Spring, we are also waking up to what we need to do to grow and move on in our lives. The energy of transformation is being seeded within each of us now.

This is the perfect New Moon to work with our dreams and visions, with art and creativity, music and writing, to let our inventive side take over. Aquarius is an air element and air forms a doorway to other realms, a way of being which lets us shape-shift into what we want to be. You may find yourself drifting and caught by distraction, unable to focus. Your psyche is pulling you away from the normal world and into a place of the imagination. This is no time to resist or hold back, let your mind run wild. This is a time to make wishes and go for what you want.

This New Moon makes a bold statement leaving no stone unturned, it may symbolically or literally directly point the way to a new path that is yet untraveled and shoot you in a new direction. The New Moon will bring in wonderful surprises. There will be twists and turns around every corner. Keep your eyes open for new opportunities that may come out of the blue.

The Aquarius New Moon will be a very emotional one. We will be feeling everything much more deeper than usual, we may find ourselves happy or crying for no reason. We will find it hard to sleep and we may experience weird or unsettling dreams. This is our minds way of dealing with our emotions and releasing them.

During the next few days you may experience a feelings of anger or a sense of being misunderstood. You may be feeling frustrated and that you need to get moving in your life, that things are happening too slowly. There may be some anxiety and impatience over where you are and where you want to be. People will be acting more assertive and argumentative (traffic, work, relationships etc). Your pets may start acting strangely, there will be more spirit or ghost sightings. There will be more intense weather patterns happening such as storms or thunder. Try to stay calm as these will pass. There is a major shift happening right now on the earth and within us and we will physically feel this energy.

This New Moon is all about change, it is a breath of much needed fresh air. There will be a small uncomfortable time of adjustment as we move into the new but we will come out of it feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world. Let the winds of Aquarius cleanse and heal you. This is a lucky time, so do things that you felt you couldn't do in the past, be a bit bolder, a bit louder, ask for what you want from the universe, let your thoughts and desires manifest into something real.

Have a blessed New Moon, may the Goddess watch over you.

On the New Moon on Tuesday, February 17th will be the Lunar New Year which will be the start of the Year Of The Horse. This is a 12-year cycle event symbolizing intense energy, action, freedom, and rapid change. Previous Horse years have been 2014, 2002, 1990, 1978, 1966, and 1954.

This will be the year of the fire horse which happens about every 60 years. This energy brings cultural shifts, war, natural disasters, intense change, rebellion, and progress. Fire is energy, passion, enthusiasm, movement. Combined with the energy of the horse, this is amplified to an almost chaotic place. The last year of the fire horse was in 1966.

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫

Independence & freedom – Horses hate being confined. This year favors independence, travel, and breaking out of stale situations.

Energy & drive – It’s a fast paced year. Things move quickly, sometimes chaotically, but rarely stay still for long.

Confidence & charisma – The Horse is associated with charm, visibility, and being noticed. This will be great for leadership, performance, and public roles or if you want to be seen in a certain role or situation. Stand out.

Progress through action – Less talk, more doing. Success comes from decisiveness rather than over-planning.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬:

Starting new ventures (especially those involving travel, communication, or new business or money making schemes)

Taking risks

Following passion over obligation

Letting go of routines that feel restrictive

Overall, the Year of the Horse is viewed as a catalyst year, less about quiet reflection, more about charging forward and trusting your momentum. If you’ve been waiting for a push to act, this is traditionally considered a very good year for it.

Reiki, a form of energy healing, is a Japanese practice that is used to reduce stress, improve health and quality of life, and support physical and emotional healing. Research suggests that using Reiki as a complementary therapy activates the parasympathetic nervous system to heal body and mind via the relaxation response. Reiki is accessible to everyone and is easy to learn. Practitioners use specific hand positions, held for a few minutes on or near the client’s clothed body.

After receiving the Reiki 1 certificate, participants will be able to perform self-treatments and provide treatments for others. Generally, Reiki providers do not begin practicing professionally until they have received the second degree. Participants who complete Reiki 1 training will be eligible for continuing education credits.

Tonight is The Full Snow Moon so called because the last snows and frosts of winter will begin to appear around this time. The February Full Moon is also known as the Storm, Chaste, Quickening or Hunger Moon. It is our wake up call. During this time, all in nature is pure and full of potential. The hibernating creatures are beginning to slowly arouse themselves, quickening their heartbeats and coming out of their dormant period. Mother Earth is gently awakening full of new possibilities. The Snow Moon uses the same force upon us. The Full Moon falls on Imbolc making this an especially powerful Full Moon for fresh starts.

This Moon we will be feeling ultra-sensitive and emotional. We may find ourselves feeling strong emotions we don't even understand, happy and laughing one minute, teary and sad the next, we may experience weird and vivid dreams. Don't worry this will quickly pass.

There is a gentle pulling upon our consciousness at this time, we become aroused to the latent forces within ourselves, now is the time to turn the mirror in upon ourselves and see what is reflected. A time to grasp the buds of new paths and ideas and like nature, be prepared to welcome life anew.

February's Full Moon is in the sign of Leo, this is the sign of ambition, truth, passion and work, you should feel a rush of energy and want to get things done. The Leo Full Moon's message is awaken to your heart’s desires and act on your truth, figure out what it really is you want from life, then work out a bold plan to achieve it.

This Full Moon can be emotionally charged. Leo is larger than life. Leo rules big emotions. You may feel overly sensitive to the remarks and actions of other people. The Leo Full Moon may feel pretty intense. If you like things intense, you may well enjoy its spark and energy, but if you’re already feeling somewhat jaded and in need of a rest, it might be a good time to lay low and let the world pass you by for a little while rather than engaging too deeply with it!

The Full Moon will be very bright tonight as it highlights our lives and shows us underneath the masks we all wear on a daily basis. This is a time to harness your inner power and your strengths and look to the future, make plans and be brave in your decisions. The cosmic message is to balance your heart with your head. Find the middle ground in your relationships. Live from your heart, yet, be practical in your approach to your dreams and goals. Plant the seeds of fate within ourselves and watch them develop over the coming months.

The best part of Leo is the inner child. You are to nourish and protect your childlike innocence. You are to be open to new ideas and fresh perspectives. Be curious about life. Be engaged in the magic of the moment. Be in your heart. Let go of the need to criticize and judge yourself and others, this will kill your creativity, instead allow yourself and others to make mistakes, it is the only way we learn what works and what does not work for us. There’s a sense of free spirited enjoyment, a faith in happy outcomes and the ability to speak from love and the heart.

The Moon is plump with positive energy. There are no negative aspects to this Moon. This is a celebration Moon. Rewards for the hard work and intense striving will come to you. Leo is a fire sign, let the fire energy cleanse and heal you, let the moonlight take away any negativity. Mother earth is transforming right now as we move from Winter into Spring and will soon start to blossom and bloom. Let the earth transform you into a beautiful new direction full of potential. This is a time for personal growth and deep cleansing and gathering our strength for what's to come.

Have a blessed Full Moon, May the Goddess watch over you.

Today is Imbolc which is celebrated February 1st/2nd. Imbolc is pronounced 'im'olk this is the first of 8 Pagan holidays throughout the year called Sabbats. Imbolc comes from the old Irish name Imbolg which means 'in the belly', meaning sowing the first seeds into the earth. Imbolc is a time to acknowledge the First Spark of Spring, the embedded energies that have been sleeping over the winter. The seeds that are underground acknowledge the returning energy and will begin to convert it to life deep within. Underground and unseen by man they will start to make their way to the surface and break through the soil and begin to bud.

Even though it is still the dead of winter and feels like winter in most places, the Sun's energy has been returning ever since the Winter Solstice (longest night of the year, Yule)

On Imbolc we celebrate the first days of Spring, snowdrops and crocuses begin to appear, things become very spring-like with daffodils, daisies and hyacinths coming early. Animals begin to wake from their winter hibernation. Nights get shorter and days will get longer and it will start to get warmer as winter snow and frost begin to thaw.

We celebrate the rebirth of the Goddess on Imbolc after she sacrificed herself on Yule to give birth to the Sun God. Both the God and Goddess are young, the triple Goddess is in her maiden form and gains strength from the earth, while the Sun God will grow in strength over the coming months.

Imbolc is a Celtic fire festival, where in ancient times most towns and villages would build a ceremonial bonfire. The Goddess Brigid, the Goddess of fire, healing and fertility is worshipped on this day. The lighting of fires celebrated the increasing power of the Sun. The Goddess Brigid was so much loved by the Celts that when the Christians were converting Pagans they could not change the holiday of Imbolc so the holiday was reformed and renamed to 'Candlemas' when candles are lit to remember the purification of the Virgin Mary, and they changed the Goddess Brigid into Saint Brigid.

Imbolc is a fire festival, it is the ending of Winter and the beginning of Spring. To celebrate Imbolc, light a fire, it may only be a very small one and make wishes for the coming year into the flames. Burn any leftover evergreens that were decorating your home at Yule. Clean your homes of clutter that was gathered over the Yuletide and get rid of the old and bring in the new. Plant seeds for them to bloom in the Spring and Summer. Use a sage smudge stick or incense to cleanse your home of stale or unwanted negative energies.

It is customary to make a Corn Dolly on Imbolc, this represents the Goddess, who will watch over you and your home throughout Spring and Summer. It is also traditional to make a Brigid Cross or Sun Cross on Imbolc, this is a cross woven traditionally from reeds but can be made with anything such as wheat, straw or paper and put them around your home to bring luck and protection for the coming year. Fill your alter with lit white candles and leave them to carefully burn through the day. Add any blooming flowers such as snowdrops, crocuses, daffodils or daisies and anything yellow, orange, gold or silver to honour the Sun God.

Imbolc is a time of contemplation, to think about the year that has past and the mistakes or successes we have had and what we have learned from them to help us achieve our goals, dreams and ambitions for the coming year. As well as planting seeds to grow in the earth also plant seeds and ideas in your mind to grow and blossom over the coming months.

Have a blessed Imbolc, May the God and Goddess watch over you.

Tonight is a New Moon in the sign of Capricorn. This New Moon is one of the most significant as it is starting energies for the year ahead and is going to help blow away the cobwebs of 2025 once and for all. 2025 was a year of endings astrologically, which means that 2026 is going to be a year of new beginnings. This death and rebirth cycle is playing out in all of our lives in some way or another and in the coming weeks you will start to feel the “rebirth” occurring. This rebirth energy won’t fully shift into gear until the Full Moon in about 2 weeks, however this New Moon is definitely going to start setting the wheels in motion.

A new cycle is beginning for you. The Capricorn New Moon can empower you to move in a bold direction. You may break free from bad habits and relationships. You are no longer distracted by fear and doubt. You are ready to be who you were born to be. This is a time of great luck, so go out and try new things, use this lucky time to grow businesses, start new jobs, start new education, learn a new skill, find a new love. Change what isn’t working for you. Often when things don’t feel good in our lives we want to change everything all at once, but just take small steps, just change one small thing at time.

Our emotions will be heightened for the next few days and can be confusing, we may be feeling happy and overjoyed one minute, then sad and crying the next. You may have problems sleeping and you may have weird and vivid dreams. Our nerves may be on edge and arguments and misunderstandings could flare up. But don't worry this will pass soon. This is our body, mind and spirit aligning to the transformations happening at the moment as the earth enters the end of winter with the last of the snow storms and cold weather as we look toward Imbolc.

Don't shy away from hard work or challenges right now they can bring big rewards. If you start to see your challenges from a different perspective, you will see your challenges as opportunities for growth, they keep your life fresh and lively. Your life can be much freer than you may have realized. New opportunities will emerge for you. Believe in your dreams coming true. Believe when you wish upon a star your wish will be granted. The star is shining on you right now. The New Moon is opening up a new pathway for you. Perhaps it was there all along and now your eyes are opened and you can see it.

This New Moon will strengthen the impact for change. Don’t allow anything to hold back your dreams and desires. Listen to your intuition, because your intuition is your inner knowledge, allow your higher self to guide you to new starts and goals. Sudden unexpected opportunities can come to you from out of the blue at this time, seize them and make the most of any opportunity that comes your way.

There are new perspectives to be enjoyed now and this New Moon reminds us that no matter how far we may have strayed from where we want to be, we can always get back there as long as there is hope and the will to move and grow.

Capricorn is ruled by the element of earth, use the energy of this New Moon to allow us to plant seeds in the earth to grow over the coming year. 2026 is going to be a challenging but amazing and lucky year with so many blessings and opportunities, so take this moment to enjoy the new vibration and the fresh start that this New Moon offers.

Have a Blessed New Moon and may the Goddess watch over you.

What It Means to Be a Druid

To be a Druid is to walk in deep harmony with Nature, wisdom, and the living Earth.
Druidry is a spiritual and philosophical path rooted in the ancient Celtic cultures of Europe — especially in Ireland, Britain, and Gaul.

The word Druid comes from an old Celtic term that means “one who knows the oak” — the oak being a symbol of strength, wisdom, and sacred knowledge.

Where Druidry Comes From

In ancient Celtic societies, Druids were not only spiritual leaders, but also:
• healers
• judges
• philosophers
• teachers
• keepers of oral tradition

They preserved knowledge of herbs, astronomy, sacred rituals, and the laws of Nature. Their wisdom was passed down through memory, not books, which made their teachings deeply connected to lived experience.

Modern Druidry is inspired by these ancient traditions and seeks to revive their spirit in today’s world.

What Druids Believe

Druidry is centered on a few core ideas:

🌿 Nature is sacred
Trees, rivers, stones, and animals are expressions of spirit and deserve respect.

🌙 The Earth is alive
Druids see the world as a living, breathing being, not a resource to be exploited.

🔥 Wisdom is found in balance
Light and dark, growth and rest, birth and death are all part of the sacred cycle.

🕯 The ancestors and the land matter
The spirits of the land and those who walked before us are honored and remembered.

What Druids Practice

Druids often:
• celebrate the seasonal festivals of the Celtic Wheel of the Year
• meditate in nature
• work with trees and plants
• honor the spirits of the land
• study poetry, myth, and ancient lore

Some Druids practice magic, others focus more on philosophy, ritual, and environmental respect.

Why People Are Drawn to Druidry

People choose the Druid path because it brings them back to the roots of the Earth and the soul.
It is a path of deep listening — to the wind, the trees, the seasons, and the quiet voice inside.

To be a Druid is to remember that the forest is not separate from us.
We belong to it.

What It Means to Be Pagan

To be Pagan is to walk a spiritual path rooted in Nature, ancestral memory, and the living world around us. Paganism is not one single religion, but a wide family of earth-centered spiritual traditions that existed long before modern organized religions.

Pagans believe that the Earth is sacred.
The forests, rivers, mountains, animals, Moon, and Sun are not separate from spirit — they are spirit.

To be Pagan means to honor life in all its forms and to recognize that human beings are part of the natural web, not above it.

What Pagans Believe

Most Pagan paths share a few core ideas:

🌿 Nature is sacred
The natural world is not something to dominate, but something to respect and live in harmony with.

🌙 The divine has many faces
Many Pagans honor multiple gods and goddesses, or see divinity expressed through different aspects of Nature, the seasons, and human experience.

🔥 The cycles of life matter
Birth, growth, death, and rebirth are seen as natural and sacred processes, mirrored in the changing seasons.

🕯 Spirituality is experienced, not imposed
Paganism does not rely on one holy book or one strict authority. Instead, it values personal experience, ritual, and connection with the unseen.

What Pagans Practice

Pagans often celebrate the Wheel of the Year — the seasonal festivals that mark the cycles of the Sun and Earth. These include solstices, equinoxes, and ancient harvest festivals.

They may also:
• honor their ancestors
• work with the Moon
• perform rituals to align with natural energies
• meditate, pray, or create sacred space

Some Pagans practice magic, while others do not. Magic is seen not as superstition, but as working consciously with energy, intention, and the natural forces of the world.

Different Pagan Paths

Paganism includes many traditions, such as:
• Norse Paganism
• Celtic Paganism
• Hellenic (Greek) Paganism
• Slavic Paganism
• Druidry
• and many more

Each path honors different gods, myths, and ancestral cultures, but all are united by reverence for Nature and the sacredness of life.

Why People Choose Paganism

Many people are drawn to Paganism because it feels honest, ancient, and alive. It does not ask people to reject the world — it teaches them to love it.

To be Pagan is to remember that the Earth is our temple, the sky is our cathedral, and every living thing carries spirit.

It is not a path of fear, but a path of belonging.
