I keep seeing online that Christmas ‘belongs to pagans,’ or that Christians ‘stole’ the holiday. But the truth is simple: every tradition carries pieces of many cultures, and every faith has shaped winter celebrations in its own way.

Decorating a Christmas tree, for example, is often called witchcraft — and honestly, even if someone sees it that way, it is a beautiful form of intention. You hang your wishes, your blessings, your hopes for the year to come. Every light, every ornament is a little prayer, a little piece of magic for your home.

What matters is not who ‘owns’ the holiday. What matters is how each soul celebrates it. Christians, pagans, witches, spiritual paths of all kinds — everyone has the right to honour this season in the way that feels true to them.

Belief is personal. Respect is universal.

So celebrate Christmas, Yule, or the Winter Season in the way your heart calls you. A holiday of light, love, and hope belongs to everyone who chooses to welcome it.

The Triple Goddess and Her Power in Magic

The Triple Goddess is one of the most enduring and sacred symbols in modern and ancient magical traditions. She represents the eternal cycle of life, the phases of the Moon, and the three great transformations of feminine energy.
Honored as Maiden, Mother, and Crone, the Triple Goddess embodies wisdom, creation, and the timeless rhythm of nature’s unfolding.

In magic, she teaches that all things move through cycles — beginnings, fullness, and release — and that each phase holds its own strength, its own lesson, and its own form of power.

The Maiden – New Beginnings and Potential

The Maiden is the energy of dawn, youth, curiosity, and freedom.
She represents new intentions, fresh ideas, inspiration, and the spark of hope.
In magical practice, the Maiden supports:
• new paths and opportunities
• cleansing and renewal
• creativity and exploration
• rites of growth and self-discovery

She is the waxing Moon — rising, expanding, and awakening potential.

The Mother – Creation, Protection, and Fullness

The Mother is the full Moon — radiant, nurturing, and powerful.
She represents creation, abundance, stability, and the ability to manifest dreams into reality.
In magic, her presence strengthens:
• manifestation and prosperity work
• protection and nurturing energy
• emotional grounding
• rituals of love, connection, and purpose

She is the heart of the cycle — life in its fullness.

The Crone – Wisdom, Transformation, and Release

The Crone is the waning Moon, carrying ancient knowledge and deep intuition.
She guides endings, transitions, and the release of what no longer serves.
In magical practice, the Crone aids:
• shadow work
• spiritual insight
• closing cycles
• protection, boundaries, and truth-seeing

Her energy is the mystery — the quiet power of understanding and transformation.

The Triple Goddess in Magical Practice

To work with the Triple Goddess is to embrace the flow of nature and the phases within oneself.
She teaches that:
• beginnings hold promise
• fullness carries strength
• endings create space for rebirth

Through her three faces, the practitioner learns to honor each stage of life with respect and presence.
The Triple Goddess is not only a deity, but a living symbol of the magical path itself — ever-changing, ever-growing, and eternally renewed.

The Real Meaning of “Witch”

The word “witch” is far older and far richer than the negative meaning it gained in later centuries.

1. Old English Origins
The English word witch comes from Old English:
• wicca (male practitioner)
• wicce (female practitioner)

These words are related to the old Germanic root meaning “one who bends, shapes, or knows” — referring to someone who could shape energy, heal, or foresee.

Early English texts show that a wicce or wicca was:
• a healer
• a wise person
• someone skilled in herbs and charms
• a keeper of local spiritual knowledge

Not a figure of evil — but a community guide.

2. Connection to Greek “μάγος / μάγισσα”
The English “witch” is conceptually similar to the ancient Greek:
• μάγος (magos) – a wise man, healer, astrologer
• μάγισσα (magissa) – a woman of knowledge, herbs, and ritual skill

In both languages, the original meaning was wisdom and mastery, not something dark.

3. Mediterranean Roots
In Italy, the traditional wise woman is known as the “strega”, part of ancient folk magic and healing traditions (stregheria).
Just like the Greek magissa and the English wicce, the strega was:
• a village healer
• protector of the household
• keeper of seasonal rites

These traditions go back to pre-Christian Europe, where wise women and men were essential to the community.

4. What “Witch” Means Today
Today, many people reclaim the word witch to mean:
• intuitive
• connected to nature
• knowledgeable in herbs, energy, and rituals
• spiritually independent

In other words, the modern witch keeps alive an ancient lineage of wisdom, healing, and earth-based spirituality.

Tonight is the Full Frost Moon, so called because the frost and ice will start to set in as the earth grows colder, animals will start to hibernate for the winter months, the last leaves will fall from the trees and the land will become barren. This is also known as The Beaver Moon.

The Moon is in the sign Ta**us. We are amidst some strong planetary alignments that are heralding a need for profound change and revolution inside and out. Our attitude is of foremost importance during this time and can empower us and see us through whatever we are facing. Gratitude for what we have and a willingness to move with the energy that is calling is required.

The Full Moon tonight will also be a Supermoon. The Supermoon occurs when the Moon is the closest to the earth more than any other time of the year, making the Moon appear up to 30% bigger and brighter than usual. The Supermoon not only affects nature such as the tides and wildlife it also affects us, our emotions will be heightened, our senses will be sharp, things that were hidden or in the shadows can now be seen. A Supermoon amplifies the effects of a normal Moon, we will be feeling ultra-sensitive and emotional at this time.

This particular Full Moon will not be boring and will have an unpredictable vibe along with it. The places we have been feeling stuck in our lives may suddenly begin to move or shift. If emotions are clogged, they may surface and flow, let them, don't hold anything in, let your emotions out.

The Ta**us Full Moon will be filled with raw emotions. Everyone is going to feel it on some level. You can feel your emotions go from high to low to all over the place. We may have trouble sleeping and experience wild and vivid dreams but don't worry as this will pass over the next few days. Be aware of dualistic thoughts, emotions and behaviours, this may be generating a lot of mental stress and tension plus sending out mixed signals to others and the universe. Try to stay grounded and find a balance. Finances are illuminated on this Full Moon, to watch what we are spending and to improve or bring in any extra income.

Tonight's Full Moon brings change, we are coming to the end of the year with Yule and the New Year fast approaching we must become empowered to make the changes necessary to shift our situation. It is up to us and the time is now. We must let go and surrender to the deeper current that is transforming us. You are the master of your destiny. Take your power back from society and other people. Learn from your past mistakes. Vow to do better next year. Make a commitment to your success. Be adaptable. Make friends with change. It is not the enemy. Change is your friend. Change sheds the old and gives birth to the new.

This Full Moon is about communication, higher learning and our sense of creativity and adventure. Something has been building inside of us and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos demands that we let it out. We are magnets to our desire right now, we have the power to attract what we want toward us. Ta**us is the sign of deep thinking, work and stability, this will give us a boost in mind and body power, we will be able to see things more clearly, we will see our own truths and a fog will be lifted that can show us a path that can lead us into improving ourselves both spiritually and mentally.

This Full Moon look into yourself and ask yourself what you need to move forward, ask yourself how you are going to achieve this. Use the energy of this Full Moon to heal and gain strength. Ask the Goddess for guidance and to lead the way to a more positive and happier life. Tonight is a good time to determine just what you value and want to stand for, what you want to create in your life and carry forth into the next cycle of your evolution.

Have a blessed Full Moon. May the Goddess watch over you.

🖤 Happy New Year Witches! Blessed Be! 🖤

'Twas the night of Samhain and all throughout the house,
Every creature was stirring, yes even that mouse;

The jack o'lanterns were hung about with great care,
In hopes the fall fairies soon would be there;

The children were dressed in their spookiest wear,
For in search of sweet treats on Samhain 'tis fair;

It's All Hallow's night, so I leaped from my bed,
With thoughts of enchantment running through my head;

When across the moon's face a wonder I'd spy,
A Witch on her broomstick up in the sky;

The moon shining on the autumn leaves as they fall,
Gives a feelings of spirits leering within the trees so tall;

When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But Witches and Wizards coming ever more near;

So I grab my boots and my black cloak quick,
I know in a moment this house they will pick;

More rapid than bats around a grave they came,
They whistled, and shouted, and called me by name;

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
To the house they did come for a Samhain ball!

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
We danced and played underneath the dark sky;

Let us gather as friends, carve the pumpkin set near,
This old Haunted House shall give nobody fear;

I was dressed all black, from my head to my foot,
No tarnish on these clothes no ashes or soot;

Our eyes how they twinkled! Our hearts filled with delight!
As we called forth spirits on this Samhain night!

When we had finished our magickal spell,
Around the cauldron some stories of monsters we’d tell;

But soon as with time, it will rush quickly by,
Our party was ending and home the witches did fly.

But I heard them exclaim, ere they flew out of sight,
"Samhain blessing to all and to all a good night."
