When it matters most, some people don’t just talk — they show up. 💛

We are deeply grateful to Allison O'Toole, former CEO of Second Harvest Heartland and a true social impact changemaker in Minneapolis, who took time out of her busy schedule to personally deliver food & naloxone for Shiloh Cares Food Shelf - SCFS to our immigrant neighbors — and she brought a whole crew for delivery with her to the Northside of Minneapolis.

In this critical moment, we received over 13,000 calls and texts for food to the doors of our immigrant neighbors, this is on top of serving thousands of neighbors onsite each week.

We need drivers, food, gas, and rent support — and Allison, Maggie McCracken, CAP® of the Minneapolis Foundation, Erika L. Binger of V3, Hennepin County, and other partners have stepped forward when it counted.

This is what solidarity in Minneapolis looks like. This is what community looks like. This is what leadership looks like.

We are proud to be overserving the underserved — but we can’t do it alone.

If you believe in showing up for neighbors in need, stand with us. Donate Money and Food, Volunteer. Share our mission.

Because when people are hungry and hurting, we don’t wait — we move. 💛

Statement from Nonprofit Hunger-Relief Organizations Serving Minneapolis and Minnesota

Shiloh Cares Food Shelf (NCSRC) stands in solidarity with nonprofit hunger-relief organizations across Minnesota. We are united with more than 100 food shelves and food bank partners in the metro and statewide in calling for an immediate end to the surge in federal immigration activity that is creating fear and barriers for families in need.

Our mission is to use food as a violence prevention tool- this ensures neighbors can safely access food, attend school, and seek healthcare and other life-saving services without fear. When fear keeps families isolated, hunger and violence deepens—and communities suffer.

Food access should never come with risk. We will continue to stand for dignity, safety, and the right of every neighbor to receive support in times of need.

This is A Lot! Shiloh Cares Food Shelf (SCFS) stands firmly against the proposed federal funding cuts to USDA SNAP (food stamp) assistance programs and Medicaid, which are set to take effect by February 2026. These cuts would have a devastating impact on families across Minnesota, especially in impoverished neighborhoods in North and South Minneapolis, as well as rural Minnesota.

As an organization that provides food access and meals to thousands each month in North Minneapolis, we understand that real lives are at stake. The consequences of these drastic cuts could lead to severe hardships, including loss of life.

It is essential to take action and urge your State and Federal legislators to oppose these significant cuts.

✨️Make a YEAR-END, TAX-DEDUCTIBLE donation to Change Starts With Community that truly makes a difference.✨️

This year, through our Shiloh Cares Food Shelf-NCSRC- we have provided food and meals to over 100,000 people across North Minneapolis and Hennepin County — but food is just the beginning.

We hire and pay youth and adults, teach urban farming and workforce skills, and provide wraparound services that address trauma, gun violence, housing, substance use and economic instability — all under one roof.

We are the only organization in Minnesota using food as a violence-prevention tool — because when people are fed, employed, housed, and supported mentally, communities are safer.

As the year closes, your YEAR-END, TAX-DEDUCTIBLE gift helps us keep families fed, housed, youth employed, and healing in motion.
