I have spent over 30 years navigating the twists and turns of marriage, as well as 25+ years raising high-energy, chaotic kids who don't conform to society's or school's standards. Despite not fitting in, my children are quirky, funny, and possess ginormous hearts. Throughout the past two decades, I have dedicated myself to helping my family successfully navigate the challenges that come with ADHD. Now, I am extending my expertise to assist others in finding independence, success, and bringing joy back into their parenting and family life!

When working with new individuals or families facing ADHD-related struggles, I begin by offering a compassionate and understanding ear. It is important for me to create a safe space for open communication. Additionally, I provide education on ADHD to normalize the difficulties associated with this condition. By gaining insight and understanding into how ADHD affects daily life, we can shift our focus towards effective problem-solving strategies.

Once we have established a foundation of empathy and knowledge about ADHD, we embark on a journey of co-creating solutions that address the specific challenges you face due to your ADHD. Together, we work towards finding practical strategies that enhance your ability to manage time effectively, improve organization skills, develop coping mechanisms for impulsivity and distractibility, strengthen relationships, boost self-esteem and overall well-being.

What makes you resilient isnโ€™t that life has always been easy. Itโ€™s that youโ€™ve seen the overwhelm, the frustration, the challengesโ€ฆ and you still choose compassion, patience, and understanding. ๐Ÿ’›

For parents, educators, and anyone living with or supporting ADHD, choosing the light doesnโ€™t mean ignoring the hard stuffโ€”it means responding with curiosity instead of judgment, structure instead of chaos, and connection instead of isolation.

Your awareness, your empathy, your willingness to keep showing up, thatโ€™s what makes you truly remarkable.

Whatโ€™s one way youโ€™ve chosen the light this week? Share below ๐Ÿ‘‡

Myth: ADHD means laziness.

I hear this a lotโ€”and I gently challenge it every time.

Because what I actually see is:

โ™ก kids who are overwhelmed
โ™ก adults who are trying but stuck
โ™ก people who care deeply but canโ€™t always show it in expected ways

ADHD is not a character flaw.

Itโ€™s a difference in how the brain:

โ™ก processes information
โ™ก regulates attention
โ™ก manages energy

When we shift from judgment to understanding, we create space for real change.

04/07/2026

One simple strategy that helps ADHD brains regulate: movement.

Before expecting focusโ€ฆ we need to support regulation.

Try this:

โ™ก wall pushes
โ™ก chair push-ups
โ™ก stretching or resistance movements

It might look small, but it helps the nervous system โ€œresetโ€ so the brain can actually engage.

This is especially helpful:

โ™ก before homework
โ™ก before transitions
โ™ก during moments of overwhelm

A lot of ADHD support isnโ€™t about more talking. Itโ€™s about giving the body what it needs first.

Youโ€™re not failing. The system just wasnโ€™t built for this brain.

Whether youโ€™re a parent, educator, or professionalโ€” it can feel like youโ€™re constantly trying to make things โ€œfitโ€ into systems that donโ€™t always support neurodiversity.

That doesnโ€™t mean youโ€™re doing it wrong.

It means we need different approaches.
More flexible ones.
More understanding ones.

And those exist.

Ever feel like youโ€™re repeating yourself 100 timesโ€ฆ and it still doesnโ€™t stick?

If youโ€™re parenting or working with someone with ADHD, this can feel exhausting.

You explain. You remind. You try again.

And instead of things improving, it can start to feel frustratingโ€”for everyone involved.

Hereโ€™s the piece that often gets missed:โ€จ
ADHD isnโ€™t about not wanting to listen.โ€จItโ€™s about the brain struggling to process, regulate, and act in the moment.

That shift in understanding changes everything.

We stop asking:โ€จโ€œWhy arenโ€™t they trying?โ€โ€จand start asking:โ€จโ€œWhat support does their brain actually need?โ€

If this is something you experience, youโ€™re not alone in it ๐Ÿค

Imagine someone trying to read a book without their glasses. No matter how hard they squint, the words stay blurry.

Now, just like we wouldnโ€™t blame someone for needing glasses, we shouldnโ€™t treat ADHD as a behavior problem or a lack of willpower. Itโ€™s not a choice โ€” itโ€™s how the brain is wired.

What people with ADHD need isnโ€™t judgment, but the right tools, strategies, and support. ๐Ÿ’›

Letโ€™s shift the focus from blame to understanding โ€” because when we do, we lift each other up. ๐Ÿ’ชโค๏ธ

Raising a kiddo with ADHD? Hereโ€™s a reminder for you: itโ€™s about progress, not perfection. Seriouslyโ€”celebrate the little wins!

โ™ก Homework done (even if itโ€™s last minute)
โ™ก Shoes on the right feet before school
โ™ก Remembering to use those coping strategies

These โ€œsmallโ€ victories are actually hugeโ€”and every one of them builds confidence. So donโ€™t forget to high-five your kid (and yourself) along the way. ๐Ÿ†
