Even more mild cases of dehydration however can make you feel unwell. Dehydration can trigger headaches, lightheadedness and fatigue. Severe dehydration may cause dizziness, a rapid heart rate, fainting and can even result in organ failure in extreme circumstances. Prolonged dehydration can also make it hard for a person to rehydrate just by drinking water.
