GOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING, Y'ALL!
I don't know about you, but it seemed like my alarm went off waaaayyy early today. BUT! I am standing in the promise that the Lord works all things out for my GOOD and pressing on!
Remember when I said 2021 would bring new content?! Well, get excited because today launches one of the series I am most excited for this year.
| 2021 & DONE |
This year I am calling each of you to take a big step in your wellness journey and say, "see ya never!" to some of the most harmful personal care products most people use on a daily or weekly basis!
According to the Environmental Working Group, the average American woman uses 12 personal care products that contain 168 different chemicals, while men use an average of 6 that contain 85 different chemicals. Many of these are applied directly to the skin, our body's largest organ, and absorbed directly into our bloodstream. We are talking about carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, hormone mimickers, synthetic estrogens, and more.
I know it is easy to brush this under the rug and think, well it probably doesn't impact me or my family in a significant way or it's only one or two products, big deal! But, friend, IT MATTERS. Your body deserves better. Your family deserves better. YOU DESERVE BETTER. Our society is sick, tired, hormonally disrupted, and toxic. Help yourself make a CHANGE!
Changing all of your products at once can be a daunting task, but one at a time isn't so bad! Every journey begins with a single step - let's get started.

January | Dryer Sheets
This month I am challenging you to get rid of your dryer sheets!!! They are TOXIC to your health, and also bad for the environment. Here are a few reasons to ditch the dryer sheets:
❌They are full of harmful chemicals: chloroform, benzyl acetate, dichlorobenzene, ethyl acetate, and synthetic fragrance just to name a few. Many of these chemicals are considered carcinogens, and can impact your central nervous system, respiratory tract, and hormones. These chemicals coat your clothes and come in contact with your skin, where they can be absorbed into the bloodstream.
❌They are harmful to the environment: dryer sheets are not recyclable so they build up in landfills and leach chemicals into the ground. They also release volatile organic compounds into the air through your dryer vent.
❌They are harming your dryer: the purpose of a dryer sheet is to leave your clothes feeling soft, free of static cling, and smelling good, right? Well the coating on the dryer sheet doesn't just transfer to your clothes, it also coats the inside of your dryer, your electronic monitoring sensor, and your lint trap which can be a fire hazard.
So, if you ditch the dryer sheets, what's the switch to? There are many different products you can use to negate the static build up when your dryer tumbles. You can use any kind of rubber dryer ball, wool dryer balls, or even a washcloth soaked in vinegar (add a few drops of essential oil to knock out the vinegar smell, or let your clothes sit out before folding).
At my house, we use Norwex wool dryer balls ($30) with a few drops of essential oil to help keep our clothes smelling great! I can honestly say we don't miss the dryer sheets one bit and it was definitely worth the investment up front.

Make the switch, your body will thank you. ✨
