Arthritis is one of the most common causes of chronic pain and limited mobility, affecting over 54 million adults in the United States. While many turn to medication or surgery for relief, chiropractic therapy offers a non-invasive and natural treatment option for arthritis management, addressing joint misalignments and alleviating pain.
Common types of arthritis includes:
Rheumatoid - a chronic condition that causes pain, swelling and inflammation in the joints. Rheumatoid arthritis happens when the immune system attacks its own body's tissues by mistake.
Osteoarthritis - the most common form of arthritis, affecting millions of people worldwide. It happens when the protective cartilage that cushions the ends of the bones wears down over time. Although osteoarthritis can damage any joint, the condition most commonly affects joints in the hands, knees, hips and spine.
Juvenile - formerly known as juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, is the most common type of arthritis in children under the age of 16.
Psoriatic - a type of arthritis that can affect people who have psoriasis. Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes itchy, scaly patches on the skin.
