We’re baking up something delicious with this S’mores Cookie Speech Box that builds vocabulary and language skills through a variety of games and hands on activities. Little ones will explore and learn new vocabulary words relating to cookies with a set of vocabulary cards and games, reinforced with tangible objects they can get their little fingers on to create their own cookies. Use these objects for free play or bake up something delicious along side Henry as he bakes cookies with his mom.

These boxes were designed specifically for your child by a pediatric Speech Language Pathologist to increase vocabulary skills in several fun and interactive lessons! We’ve taken care of the planning and guess work for SLPs, teachers, and caregivers alike to increase awareness and generalization of language skills in the classroom and at home.

Each Speech Box Comes with:
🍪 Homemade brown doh
🍪 Set of vocabulary cards with 3 activities
🍪 Laminated cookie sheet
🍪 10 resin chocolate chips
🍪 10 resin marshmallows
🍪 S’mores resin confetti
🍪 Mini wooden rolling pin

Hello! My name is Jolene Law and I am a school based Speech Language Pathologist. I also own a growing small pediatric private practice with immediate after school availability.

I specialize in:

💬 Beginning/late talkers
💬 Augmentative/Alternative Communication
💬 Autism
💬 Stuttering/Fluency

My therapy lessons often look like play but that is because I truly believe that children learn best through play- after all, that is what they do best.

Over the last few weeks I’ve incorporated messy, puffy paint into my speech sessions as part of an art project targeting various skills.

My neurotypical students easily followed the directions and completed the task of painting a snowman.

But I hesitated just a little when I contemplated doing the same activity in our self•contained classrooms. Most of these students have greater and more complex disabilities, and in turn, require more assistance and support.

After my 30 second hesitation, I stopped and reevaluated; embarrassed that I even contemplated not doing the same activity with them.

❄️ Don’t all children deserve an equal chance to experience painting and getting messy?

❄️ Don’t all children deserve the same opportunities?

If not, how will they learn and grow?

So yes, I brought in the messy art. I over examined and prepared down to the simplest detail to ensure that the lesson ran smoothly.

I even asked staff to step back and let the children paint without hand over hand support. To presume competence.

And you know what happened? 👇🏻

❄️ That child didn’t need hand over hand support. He painted a beautiful snowman without the adult’s lead.

❄️ No one ate the paint or got their clothes messy because I was over prepared.

❄️ And most of all? They all had fun.

Last week in speech therapy, we wrapped up our ‘Sneezy the Snowman’ lesson. We painted a snowman with puffy paint and searched for words in the story with our target sounds.

Was it messy? ..a little bit.

Was it fun? Absolutely!
