MARRCH Message to our Community:
We are especially mindful of the fear, stress, and uncertainty impacting many Somali families and community members. Moments like this heightens vulnerability and disrupt daily life for those already navigating complex systems, such as housing, healthcare, behavioral health, education, and employment. When any community is targeted or marginalized, the harm radiates across our entire state.
We want to state this clearly and with intention:
β’ MARRCH stands firmly against stigma in all its forms, including the stigma directed toward the Somali community and other immigrant communities. Stigma divides, harms, and undermines recovery, wellbeing, and community trust. It has no place in Minnesota, and MARRCH will continue to advocate for approaches grounded in dignity and truth.
To our partners, neighbors, and community members:
β’ You are not alone. If you have questions, concerns, or need help identifying resources, MARRCH is here. Whether youβre seeking guidance, community connections, or support for staff and families, please reach out.
Now more than ever, we must stand together with clarity, compassion, and purpose. MARRCH remains committed to ensuring that all communities, especially those experiencing heightened fear or stigma, feel seen, supported, and safe.
