Women Wednesday | Women’s History Month

This week, we recognize Marsha Linehan, the psychologist who developed Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has helped transform treatment for individuals experiencing intense emotional distress, suicidal ideation, and self-harm behaviors. By combining acceptance and change strategies, DBT teaches practical skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Linehan’s work has shaped modern mental health treatment and continues to influence therapists, researchers, and clients around the world.

This Women’s History Month, we honor the women whose work continues to advance mental health care and healing.

Valentine’s Day highlights romantic love.

But the foundation of every healthy relationship is the one you have with yourself.

Healing.
Boundaries.
Self-respect.
Growth.

You don’t have to be perfect.
You do have to be honest with yourself.

Move gently today.

We will be closed on Friday, January 30th, in solidarity with immigrant communities during the National Shutdown.

In just five days, our Community Care Fund has raised $1,335, allowing us to respond to individuals and families who have reached out seeking support this week. Our goal is to reach $1,700 this weekend to continue providing free, confidential therapy for those impacted by ICE.

Thank you for supporting community care.

At The Healing Project of MN, we stand with our neighbors and communities across Minnesota during this time of fear, uncertainty, and disruption. We recognize that recent actions by ICE agents have caused real stress, trauma, and instability for individuals and families. Mental health support should never be out of reach for people who need it most.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has responded with generosity and care. Reaching our initial $500 goal for the Community Care Fund is a testament to what happens when community comes together. Your support is helping ensure access to free, confidential, trauma-informed therapy for people impacted by ICE.

Thank you for believing in healing, compassion, and solidarity. Together, we are building care that holds people through fear and fosters resilience.

In response to recent ICE enforcement actions in Minnesota, we launched our Community Care Fund to provide pro bono, trauma-informed therapy for individuals and families impacted by ICE.

Fear and instability make access to mental health care even harder. We believe healing happens in community and when we come together in solidarity.

Our goal is to raise $500 by tomorrow to support access to care.

If you’re able, please consider supporting this fund.
