How can we care for ourselves and our community? It can be hard to prioritize self-care, but it's important to make time and space for it. By taking care of ourselves, we are then better equipped to care for others.

Here are a few self-care tips to implement for yourself. Remember: do what works for you! Self-care doesn't have to be anything grand--it can be small, intentional steps to promote wellbeing.💙

Did you know that Black History Month's origins trace back to 1926? Led by Dr. Carter Woodson, an American historian, it began as only a week-long observance but was expanded to a full month in 1976 during the United States' bicentennial.

Known as the "Father of Black History," Dr. Woodson popularized the field of Black studies and founded the Association for the Study of African American Life and History in 1915. He chose the month of February because it includes the birth dates of two prominent figures in Black history: Frederick Douglass, born Feb. 14th, and Abraham Lincoln, born Feb. 12th.

Do you have a favorite restaurant or business who’s community-oriented and advocates for mental health? Our Clubhouses are looking for more organizations to partner with for our Transitional Employment (TE) Program!

Vail’s TE Program connects Clubhouse Members with employment opportunities in the local area, helping them transition back into the workplace, learn valuable job skills, and gain work experience. Primarily, we're looking for roles that are routine-based, require minimal manual labor or physical strain, and allow for some sitting.

The goal of the program is to provide our Clubhouse Members with a supportive transition back into the workplace! Reach out to us if you have a role that’s a good fit!
