Who will be at my birth? ✨

From Roots staff, there will be at minimum, one midwife and one birth assistant.

From your own family/support system: that is up to you! Some families want to keep additional people to a minimum, while others feel safer with a village of doula/friends/family.

You get to choose what support looks like for you. 🫂

At each prenatal visit, we review your history, check in on your health and baby’s health and offer various tests and checks throughout your pregnancy. At Roots, you will always have shared decision making during your prenatal care, birth and beyond. No test or check will ever be done without first taking the time to explain what it is and why that information would be helpful to your care.

With all of the uncertainty and likelihood of government provided food benefits being taken away in November, we want to help connect our community to local resources that are available as a supplement. We are angry and anxious about all the ways this will impact our local community and beyond but hopeful in the collective community power to support each other in hard times.

🌱 At Roots, we have a weekly CSA drop off for our parent group (Thursdays 10-11:30am) but are happy to direct those goods to anyone in need and happy to help folks find resources.

🌱 For those who are financially able to, please consider donating money to the above local Food Banks/resources. These organizations know how to stretch money to feed the most people.

🌱 Check in on your friends, family, and neighbors. Making a meal for someone else, sending the gift of money to buy food, any little gesture makes a difference.

One thing we love as a way to build community and belonging is through our Roots Babies boards. Every baby born with us gets their name (or can omit and just say "baby" for privacy) and birthdate on the board for that year.

As a place that cares for and supports birthing families, we provide individualized, compassionate care for families navigating loss of a pregnancy and baby.

We walk with you, support your physical and emotional wellbeing, and connect you to resources.

To all parents who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss, you are seen, you are loved, and you are held. 🫂
