StepUP is an innovative residential Collegiate Recovery Community for students furthering their education while in recovery from substance use disorders.

-Built on evidence-based and proven techniques that emphasize recovery based on the stages of change and the abstinence model.

-Where students in recovery fully engage in the Augsburg experience. Students study abroad, play varsity athletics, serve on student government, conduct research, and more.

Meet Natane!

Natane is a Junior at Augsburg University studying Sociology and Religion, a citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, and the StepUP Community Enrichment Chair.

At StepUP, Natane is known for always being in the study room, beading gifts for her friends, and for her deep care for the community. She is incredibly smart, kind, witty, tenacious, and eager to share her findings with fellow scholars. In her free time, Natane enjoys reading and spending time with her dog, Carl.

Incredibly thankful that StepUP student leaders had the opportunity to present at the conference in New Orleans. StepUP students crafted an interactive presentation about the importance of student leadership, adventure, and commitment to service within the collegiate recovery program community. We made sure to have some fun too! And a lot of sweet treats!
