We’re proud to share that Hennepin Healthcare has been selected as the lead 2025 grantee of the Kaiser Permanente Center for Gun Violence Research and Education, in collaboration with our community partners Wellspring Second Chance Center and Empower Therapeutic Support Services Inc.

This partnership strengthens our shared mission to uplift survivors through community-centered healing, cultural wisdom, and survivor-led recovery.

As part of this initiative, Hennepin Healthcare Research Institute will develop and evaluate a survivor peer mentorship curriculum, building long-term healing connections between survivors and trained peer mentors. Moments like the one in this photo—celebrating growth, leadership, and community—reflect exactly what this work is all about.

At Harriet, we believe healing is a collective journey. This collaboration expands what’s possible for recovery, safety, and hope in our communities.

I’m excited to share that I’ll be presenting at the Black Men Healing Conference 2025 on June 26, 2025, at St. Paul College in St. Paul, MN! 🖤

My workshop, “Boys to Men: Improving Relationships Between Black Fathers and Sons Through a Trauma-Informed Lens,” will explore how intergenerational trauma, systemic oppression, and societal pressures impact the way Black fathers and sons connect and communicate.

Together, we’ll unpack how culturally grounded, trauma-informed practices can help us rebuild trust, develop emotional intelligence, and create stronger, more nurturing relationships. 🙌🏾

This session is for anyone passionate about healing, family, fatherhood, and breaking harmful cycles in our communities. Join me and a powerful lineup of Black men doing the deep work to heal, grow, and lead.
