In August, STEPS held a class outside for nannies and the children they care for. I witnessed engaged, loving, attentive, and caring nannies who supported and danced with the children they care for.STEPS is available to offer a fall session for anyone who is interested in creating a pod or joining us on Fridays at 10:30-11:30AM. Hereโs a snipet of our nourishing time together. โค๏ธ

What helps you feel calm? For me itโs water, being by a lake, river, bay, ocean, even a pond water makes me feel calm! Figuring out what helps us feel calm is a part of emotional awareness. By having the awareness, one is able to seek out calmness when feeling worried, anxious, and mad. Helping children seek out what helps them feel calm is a wonderful tool for them at home and school too!!!!

Movement can be woven into everyday activities even baking and decorating cookies!! Put on some fun dinosaur songs, release some energy that might be cooped up on rainy days. ๐ฆ๐ฆSTOMP, ROAR, CRAWL, DIG, MOVE get creative, have fun, and enjoy!!!! Maybe your cookie cutters are other animal shapes have fun moving like those animals too!!!! ๐ข๐ ๐๐

S.T.E.P.S. is a holistic approach to movement exploration. Providing the space and time and giving permission to move as little or as big; as internally or externally; as slow or fast; with your whole body or parts of the body; & with the mind-body connection or learning to integrate the two ALL are Welcome!!!
Our vision: Through each movement experience, movers will activate the social, cognitive, emotional, phsyical aspects of the self, which will provide an opportunity for greater awareness. Movers will discover new ways to bring movement into their lives beyond the classroom or movement session.
S.T.E.P.S. offers movement classes for caregivers and their children and is also available for outreach and educational opportunities. We use the term outreach broadly. If you or your school, day-care, non-profit, organization, church, place of work, small business, store, group, or family would like to experience guided movement, a movement class, or simply be inspired through the creativity that movement can provide S.T.E.P.S. welcomes you to reach out!
Family Friendly movement classes ~ Our classes are intended for adult participation: parents, grandparents, family members, nannies and anyone who may be watching your little one. During our movement classes, movers will explore the aspects that make up S.T.E.P.S. (social ~ thinking/cognitive, emotions ~ physicality). Classes will cover body awareness, spatial awareness, emotional awareness, elements of creative movement while mindfulness and engaging self-regulations skills are weaved throughout each class. Reading material will be given and an outline of the class along with the benefits and how to implement at home will be handed out each class. S.T.E.P.S. classes are a set up as a foundation for inviting more movement into your home. These classes are a 1 stop you get in the dancing, yoga, mindfulness, reading, play and music all during 1 hour of class ~ FUN!!!!!!
