We all need something different- a walk in the woods, a bath, quiet alone time, a big loud dinner party, or a phone call with a trusted friend. In this workshop, we’ll pull out our charts and explore the planets and placements that speak to how we care for our bodies and wellbeing. Because when we better understand our unique needs we’re able to meet them with more intention.

All are welcome! This 60 minute, multi-level flow class is suitable to students of levels. Plan on a moving meditation with a mid level workout and leaving with a clear head and more room to breathe. A great way to start your weekend :)

MELISSA KELLER (she/her) has been practicing yoga since 2004 and teaching since 2020. Her classes infuse yoga philosophy, alignment based vinyasa, and nervous system regulation skills to create an environment for students to gain a felt-sense of safety, strength, connection, and acceptance of the present moment. Melissa is passionate about the healing potential of movement and creativity on and off the mat. Her own healing journey serves as a foundation to support others on their paths.

She loves music, camping, water, and gardening with her family. She is also the founder and owner of Awaken Heart Somatics, a somatic therapy practice offering teletherapy in Minnesota and Arizona.

Tai Chi is a simple traditional Chinese practice that uses inner strength or "Qi" to feel better. Learn the "form", which is a continuous sequence of postures practiced in a slow, gentle manner, to improve blood circulation, balance, and your overall health. Tai chi is like swimming in air and acts similar to meditation but first step is to learn the form. Instruction is designed for people of all ages and all physical abilities. No special clothes or mats are needed but please don’t wear your street shoes on the Yoga Garden’s clean floor.

Please feel free to drop-in or use your YOGA Garden class pass to attend this class.

AMANDA DEGENER - During my 10 trips to Asia to lecture, show my work and teach I have learned and continue to learn about traditional Asian cultures especially Chinese Medicine and Tai Chi. I taught tai chi at the Natural Step School for about 5 years and then studied with Dr. He and her proteges at the American Academy of Oriental Medicine in Roseville. I have over 25 years of teaching experience and have been practicing tai chi for about 15 years and teaching it for 9. I approach this martial art as a healing practice knowing it is fantastic for balance and holistic mental and physical well being. For me, Tai Chi connects me to a deeper purpose as a being in the world. It powerfully brings me to myself in ways that are part of my spiritual understanding.

In my other life I am an accomplished artist and hand papermaker often mentoring younger practioneers.

This is not a class but a gathering of more experienced players of the Yang family long form. We practice whatever the group wants to focus on. We may extend our dates if people want to do so until it is warm enough to practice outside.

Hey YOGA Gardeners,

As we move into the new year and the heart of winter, we have the opportunity to slow down and turn inward. In Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, winter is the season of the Kapha dosha and Earth element. This is a time for slower, grounded movement and intentional rest.

January Reclaim & Renew classes will focus on standing poses to bolster our connection to the earth and forward folds and backbends to keep our energy moving freely through this time of hibernation.

Looking forward to practicing with you as we welcome 2026!
