William Larson, Pharm.D. Helping people succeed with their HIV medications. Getting the word out about successful therapies for HIV.

I help people with HIV take charge of their health and their life by taking their HIV medications correctly. I work closely with a great group of providers, social workers, and nurses at various infectious disease clinics in the Minneapolis area. Taking medications daily can be a challenge, but I can definitely help most people to be successful if they have the desire to remain or get healthy.

These were tough times, but it was a turning point in finding more effective treatments for HIV. People living with HIV would eventually be included in designing research trials because of ACT-UP. Dr. Fauci will always be a hero of mine for his leadership then and now.

Fauci, now under attack by some Trump supporters for his response to the coronavirus pandemic, was targeted by AIDS activists during a raucous 1990 protest at the National Institutes of Health

If your provider is unaware of PrEP, here is a great site they can turn to for help:

This is a very disturbing trend that will make it even harder for patients to receive life-saving medications, including those for the treatment and prevention of HIV! Complain to your HR department if you have one!

Some health plans are refusing to count the copayment assistance offered by drugmakers as part of a patient's deductible. That means some patients are paying thousands of dollars more out-of-pocket.

PrEP (taking a pill, Truvada, daily to prevent HIV infection), is very underutilized in African American and African-born individuals.
It works!
Get the word out!
Prevent new infections!

Every day, I wake up and take a little blue pill that empowers me. It’s been nearly 3 years since I made the decision to start pre-exposure prophylaxis, better known as PrEP. PrEP is a daily pill that when taken consistently reduces the risk of acquiring HIV by over 90 percent. Over the years, I.....
