Grip strength is very important for older adults as it is a key indicator of overall health, functional independence, and longevity. There’s a reason why our Lifespark Senior Living communities compete for grip strength, and this past Grip Game season had our athletes increasing their strength across 46+ Lifespark Senior Living communities by over 32.6%.

The All Saints Senior Living Coyotes brought the heat at the Senior Living Innovation Forum 🔥

Lifespark CEO Joel Theisen joined Dr. Bill Thomas to discuss how Lifespark is transforming the senior living experience and improving outcomes for older adults.
Following their conversation, conference participants went head-to-head with the Coyotes, testing strength, teamwork, and a little friendly competition in a live Grip Games match, where water is pumped through the Power Loop to see who can move the most.

This is just one of the many Spark Competitions held throughout the year, where we make staying active (and improving grip strength) fun, engaging, and just a little competitive.

I had a major epiphany. My refusal to discuss death with my mother had not been a kindness. It had been a disservice. She’d tried to talk to me about dying, but I’d shut her down. I wanted to help her pretend it wasn’t happening. And more selfishly, I couldn’t discuss the unthinkable with her.
