Four Sisters Farmers Market welcomes Wakan Tipi Awanyankapi to the market this week for a papermaking activity from 1 PM - 3 PM. Learn how to make your own seed paper that you can grow into a beautiful garden! 💛✨🌿

Formerly known as Lower Phalen Creek Project, Wakan Tipi Awanyankapi is a Native-led environmental conservation nonprofit located on the East Side of St. Paul. Their areas of focus include urban conservation and restoration, cultural connections and healing, and environmental education. Their work celebrates and emphasizes the importance of the stewardship of the Dakota people. Stop by their table to hear more on how you can get involved!

---

The Four Sisters Farmers Market is an Indigenous-focused farmers market that provides increased access to affordable, healthy, culturally appropriate local foods within the American Indian Cultural Corridor.

We welcome and accept SNAP/EBT benefits, Market Bucks, Gus Produce Market Bucks, cash, and cards. Stop by the manager’s table to see how $10 in SNAP benefits can get you triple the money to spend on goods at the market!

Wild turkey! When I was young we had a neighbor whose family job it was during the Great Depression to GET (if you catch my drift, yes this is an old person story.) as many squirrels as he could for dinner each night. He and one of his sister tried for 9 for 11 people.

Join us for another Indigenous Peoples' Day at the Minnesota State Fair! We’ll be at Dan Patch Park on Sunday, August 27th, celebrating and discussing Indigenous food sovereignty and land management.

The day will feature demonstrations on Indigenous food and drinks like tea, wild rice, foraging, and tortillas. There will also be live entertainment including drummers, dancers, and comedians. We’ll be hosting a panel discussion from members of the East Phillips Neighborhood Institute (EPNI), Native American Community Clinic (NACC), Dream of Wild Health, and Native American Community Development Institute (NACDI)/ Four Sisters Farmers Market.

The day will also feature booths and vendors from our community partners, prize giveaways, and plenty of Q&A opportunities for you to ask your questions.
