Thank you to all the volunteers who contributed to the Nokomis Healthy Seniors bake sale yesterday! We had about 20 volunteers that brought in baked goods. Many people look forward to buying their favorite breads, cookies, cakes and treats, each year. The sale was a big success in fundraising and getting information out about the services we provide to community seniors!

Winter is knocking and it might bring the season’s first snowflakes to parts of Minnesota this weekend.

When those flakes start to fall, remember to slow down and give yourself space. Ice and snow make it harder to stop and steer safely.

Check 511mn.org before you drive and keep these simple tips in mind for the snowy months ahead:
• Slow down for the road conditions, especially on bridges, and give yourself extra space.
• Be patient with snowplows — they are working to make roads safer.
• Turn on your headlights.
• Wear your seat belt.
• Put distractions away.
