Yesterday we celebrated the winter solstice and the end of this particular chapter of life. What a joyful, fulfilling ride it’s been, rich with wisdom and lessons. I’m so grateful for everyone that’s joined us as students, supporters, partners, and teachers to help us plant this seed. We shared a beautiful practice last night led by with potent reminders to rest, rise and move through the world gently. It’s bittersweet to set this down but I’m undoubtedly excited to see what grows from these roots. If you haven’t had a chance to give our teachers a follow on the next leg of their journeys, the link in our bio has all of their info in our last newsletter.
With love,
Molly

"The trees are about to show us how beautiful it is to let things go."
Dear Samadhi Community,
It’s with a tender, full and gracious heart that I announce today that Samadhi will be closing at the end of this year. Samadhi opened in 2019 with the intention to create community at the intersection of yoga, inclusivity and representation. From our inception to a global pandemic, surviving a fire, converting into a digital studio, and now dipping our toes back into in-person classes — we’ve lived a lot of life in our short time open, to say the least.
Our hope had been to weather the storm as best we could, but as the pandemic wears on, exhaustion has set in and projections are unsustainable. After deep reflection, it’s become clear that closing is the right, albeit difficult decision.
From the outset, our mission has always been to share yoga with people from all walks of life in a way that’s culturally respectful and trauma-informed, while invoking a felt sense of belonging. Though we’ve been derailed by COVID in an objective sense, I’m so proud of what we’ve created and the legacy that we’ll be leaving behind.
As a largely BIPOC staff, our existence has felt timely in the midst of our reckoning with race and equity in our nation. The dialogue, service and shared space in our community has been healing. We’ve sought to address important topics in yoga, like cultural appropriation, teacher representation, accessibility and fair pay. Our hope is that these conversations continue long after we’re closed.
I am grateful beyond words for those that have been along for the journey and for all of the love, support and trust you’ve put in us. It’s been the honor of a lifetime to be of service to this community. I want to specifically give thanks to our amazing, dedicated and talented teaching staff — most of whom have been with us since our very first day.
Our final day of classes will be Tuesday, December 21st. We hope that in the next two months, you’ll continue to join us for online and/or in-person classes. And before then, we’ll provide information on where to find our teachers so you may continue to practice with them.
With deep love and gratitude,
Molly + The Samadhi Team

Welcome to Samadhi, a little neighborhood yoga school with big dreams. We believe that yoga and wellbeing has the power to transform, ignite, and heal, and that this can be experienced by everyone. We hope to tap into the heart of yoga by offering a safe and welcoming space for movement, connection, and learning. Our passion for inclusion is reflected in our teachers and variety of offerings, and we advocate for intersectionality in the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual healing space.
Our Philosophy
A little kindness goes a long way.
By being kind in our thoughts, words, actions, matters of business, and impact on the environment; kindness starts to transmute what happens in our minds, body, on the mat, and in the studio into the world around us.
Honor the roots of yoga.
We hold sacred the classical methodologies and honor the traditional roots of yoga. By understanding that authenticity also implies humanness, we distance ourselves from guru culture and honor each person’s innate power to heal themselves.
Healing and wellness is for all.
We seek to embody the community in our teaching staff and believe that this is a fundamental step in creating safe spaces where everyone feels represented. All humans are welcome here—yoga doesn’t discriminate and neither do we.
Live in harmony with the earth.
We operate as stewards of the environment. Honoring green practices and our interdependence on nature helps strengthen our connection to the earth so we can live harmoniously (and without harm) to Her.
