As you head into the Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend, our community continues to grapple with pain, protest, and unrest following recent federal shootings and heightened immigration enforcement in our city, please remember that justice and community care are not just ideals — they are actions. In moments like these, when tensions rise and neighbors are hurting, Dr. King’s words call us back to our shared humanity. We can choose to respond with compassion, connection, and solidarity. Dr. King reminded us that service is a pathway to healing.
