Audits in Utah, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, and Georgia found a few dozen possible noncitizen registrants out of millions—and virtually no voting. Trump’s claim that noncitizens are swinging elections is false, says Cato’s Stephen Richer.

Past SIETAR- Minnesota presenter, Kao Kalia Yang has a new book out.

Today, author Kao Kalia Yang is launching her 10th picture book, “The Blue House I Loved”.

It was fun catching up with her last week and hearing more about what makes this latest book special to her. It’s about much more than just a house on the east side where childhood memories live, but a story for all of us.

Speaking of childhood memories, we talked about how Richard Marx and his music was such a big part of growing up for us. Yes — for some reason — his ballads seemed to be a big part of growing up in many southeast Asian immigrant homes, regardless of what generation. “He was our introduction to American music,” she said.

The International Institute of Minnesota is relieved and cautiously optimistic about the announcement of the conclusion of Operation Metro Surge and the removal of thousands of federal immigration agents from the Twin Cities. Today, we are relying on the administration’s words, but there is still cause for concern. The proof of this announced conclusion will be in the reality of what happens in our community.

As we move forward, our immediate priority is those who are still detained. If you know someone who is still in detention, please contact our immigration intake line at (651) 377-8642 and leave a voicemail message and we will return your call.

In the days, weeks, and months ahead, we must work together to repair the harm inflicted by this operation. Your continued support helps our students and clients regain safety, dignity, and stability that was lost.

Minnesotans in the ICE abduction crosshairs, creating a climate of terror

Big moves are happening in Minnesota as ICE and Homeland Security ramp up their operations in 2026! Federal agents are flooding the Twin Cities with 2,000 officers for a 30-day surge, focusing on illegal immigration and a major fraud investigation.

Since late December, over 500 arrests have been made, with authorities tightening their grip on suspected fraud in child care programs—mostly tied to Somali-run centers. The crackdown comes at a time when federal resources are being heavily pushed into high-profile cases, and the city is feeling the tension.

But wait, it’s not all smooth sailing! There’s controversy, too—reports say a Minneapolis hotel canceled reservations for immigration agents, sparking a heated response from DHS.

The community is torn, with protests erupting as tensions rise across the city. Stay tuned for more updates as this dramatic chapter unfolds! 🚨
