During his undergraduate studies, Dr. Lee had the opportunity to shadow various chiropractors and holistic health experts. Had the opportunity to throw down at the first ever .ltgames in Minneapolis a few weeks back!

This was WILD! A hybrid between CrossFit-style training and HYROX racing, but with a “choose your own adventure” twist. One workout. Multiple stations. Fastest time wins.

Here’s how it worked: Everyone had to hit 10,000 lbs total on deadlifts, but YOU decided how to get there. Load heavy and do fewer reps? Go lighter and chase volume? Pure strategy.

It tested everything……….strength endurance, cardiovascular capacity, muscle endurance, pacing — all condensed into one brutal 40-60+ minute grind with basically no breaks. Honestly? Way harder than I expected going in!

But the best part wasn’t the workout. It was being on the floor with athletes I’ve looked up to for years — , , — and getting to compete alongside them. That was surreal!

Huge shout out to .life and for putting this together. The venue was incredible, the organization was dialed, and the energy was unmatched. Honored they asked me to be part of the inaugural event.

Most people think chiropractic is just for back and neck pain….BUT⬇️

And sure — we’re really good at helping with that. But if that’s ALL you think we do, you’re missing about 90% of what’s actually happening in your body when you get adjusted.

Stop blaming “flu season” for getting sick.…….

The flu doesn’t just magically show up in November. What changes is YOU — your habits, your environment, and your body’s defenses.

We are not entering cold and flu season… we are entering the season of less sunlight, disrupted sleep cycles, and excessive junk food consumption.

We just passed Halloween candy overload, we’re heading into Thanksgiving feasts and holiday chaos. Add in less sunlight, more indoor time, disrupted sleep, less movement, higher stress, and way more sugar.

Your immune system doesn’t stand a chance.
Getting sick isn’t bad luck — it’s your body waving a red flag.

What you can actually do about it:

✅ Get outside daily (even 15-20 min for vitamin D and circadian rhythm)
✅ Prioritize 7-9 hours of sleep (your immune system repairs while you sleep)
✅ Move consistently (exercise enhances immune function)
✅ Eat real food and minimize sugar (sugar suppresses immunity for hours)
✅ Supplement strategically (D3, zinc, vitamin C fill the gaps)
✅ Get adjusted regularly (your nervous system controls immune response)

A Halloween hack that will save all of us from kids being doped up on sugar for the next month 😂😂

Hard to believe it’s Halloween already!
.. Kids running door to door. Parents catching up on the sidewalk. Everyone bundled up, flashlights in hand, building memories that’ll stick around long after the decorations come down.

And yeah... candy. Lots of it.

Look, I’m not going to lecture you about what’s in most Halloween candy. You already know. The dyes, the additives, the stuff that has no business being in a growing kid’s system... let alone by the bucketful.

But here’s the thing — Halloween isn’t about being the fun police. It’s about creating traditions that actually work for your family.

That’s why we brought the Switch Witch into our house years ago.
Here’s how it works:

The night after Halloween, our son picks out his favorite pieces — the ones he really wants to keep. Like.. a handful. Then he leaves the rest out for the Switch Witch. While he’s asleep, she swoops in and “switches” the candy for something he’s been wanting... a new Lego set, a book, maybe a game.

He wakes up excited. We avoid the sugar meltdown that would’ve lasted until Thanksgiving. And honestly? He looks forward to the Switch Witch as much as trick-or-treating itself.

You’re not ruining Halloween. You’re just being intentional about what comes after it.

And your kids’ developing brains and nervous systems? They’ll thank you for it... even if they don’t realize it yet.

How the brain talks to the immune system

This diagram shows the inflammatory reflex - a neural circuit where the brain regulates inflammation through the vagus nerve. It’s how psychological stress, inflammation, and immune activity stay linked.

1️⃣ The signal starts in the brain
The vagus nerve carries electrical impulses from the brainstem to the spleen, the body’s blood-filtering and immune-coordinating organ.
🟢 Example: Deep breathing and meditation can activate the vagus nerve, lowering heart rate and reducing circulating inflammatory markers like CRP and IL-6.

2️⃣ The spleen acts as a relay
When the vagus nerve is stimulated, it triggers the splenic nerve to release noradrenaline, which activates immune T cells to release acetylcholine.
🟢 Example: In animal models, vagus nerve stimulation increased noradrenaline in the spleen within minutes, showing how fast the nervous system can modulate immunity.

3️⃣ Acetylcholine calms inflammation
This neurotransmitter binds to receptors on macrophages, reducing the release of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), an inflammatory cytokine involved in chronic disease.
🟢 Example: Clinical studies using implanted vagus nerve stimulators in rheumatoid arthritis patients lowered TNF-α levels and improved joint pain without immunosuppressive drugs.

The inflammatory reflex shows that inflammation isn’t just chemical, it’s electrical. The brain can literally tell the immune system when to stand down.
