Join us tomorrow, 03/14/26, for our March Walk with a Doc if you are in the Minooka area! At 10 AM at Lake Chaminwood, we'll have a talk about Fiber and its importance for your health, and then we'll go for a walk around the lake (0.7 or 1.4 miles, depending on if you do 1 or 2 loops). We will have bunny ears for those in attendance, so you can be festive if you celebrate Easter! The temperature is supposed to be just a little above freezing, and while it thankfully won't be as windy as today, the trail at Lake Chaminwood is usually still a little windy, so dress accordingly.

Back in November, I attended the fabulous Empower Conference, put on by the Grundy County Chamber of Commerce & Industry. All attendees were encouraged to write a note of positivity to be sent to another attendee, and this week I received mine in the mail. Much appreciation to the local businesswoman who sent this lovely message.

Indoor air quality is frequently much worse than outdoor air quality, especially during cold and flu season, when we rarely open up our windows because of the cold. You've probably seen posts lately about "house burping," which is essentially making a habit of airing out your house. Today is a great day to get some fresh air in our homes, before it turns cold again. (Those with respiratory conditions should check the air quality index in their area first, of course).

We had a nice Valentine's Day walk today, complete with some (relatively) healthy snacks as a special holiday treat. If you are free March 14th, we'll be talking about the importance of fiber for your health!

Some companies have truly atrocious hold music. I've come to feel that way even more as I approach hour three of being on hold.

When it comes to the February Walk with a Doc, you never know what you are going to get, but I'm very excited for such a promising forecast! Come join us on Saturday, February 14th, at 10 AM at Lake Chaminwood. We'll be talking about Social Connection and its effects on health. We will also have free keychain whistles to give to those in attendance.

Link to the event is in the comments.

I love this video about searching for a better way to provide healthcare and how it highlights the role Direct Primary Care can play in that future!

Today is an excellent day to put the old adage "There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing" to the test! Join us for our monthly Walk with a Doc at Lake Chaminwood at 10 AM. We will be discussing Seasonal Affective Disorder, and I'll be wearing some of my best waterproof winter gear, while enjoying a walk in what is supposed to by snow by that point.

So glad to see DPC in the news! And a pretty accurate representation, too--thanks, NBC!

So glad to see DPC in the news! And a pretty accurate representation, too--thanks, NBC!

What was a niche aspect of medical care just a few years ago has exploded to thousands of practices across the country. In direct primary care, medical providers don’t take insurance. Instead, their patients pay a monthly subscription fee. In exchange they get easier access, longer appointments, a...

Because Saturday's weather could make for some dangerous driving, I am canceling our December walk. I had been excited to give away this year's Santa hats for the walk, so if you would still like to get one, they will be available in the foyer for my office at 837B S. Ridge Rd in Minooka, while supplies last. You can stop by Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM or Monday from 9 AM to 5 PM.

I encourage everyone who would normally participate in the walk to find a way to get some exercise at home, even if we can't get together on Saturday.
