How you come closer to your true self is your yoga. Practices big, small, physical, spiritual, consistent, or not is all yoga if it brings you away from suffering and closer to wellness, balance, or bliss.

In some stages of life that looks like tending primarily towards the body, sometimes we’re really needing to reframe our minds, and endless possibilities in between. It’s all a part of learning ourselves, having practices that work for you can be very stabilizing and grounding.

The 5 Koshas, or layers to your being, in story sample form.

Your body is sitting on the sand
You’re breathing the salty air in and out
Your thoughts are with you here
You can see pause or space between thoughts
You are observing all of this happen

Body
Breath
Mind
Subconscious
Bliss

Do you or someone you care about feel like their being stopped by low energy or chronic fatigue?

If a 15-20 minute practice 3-4 times a week significantly increased your energy levels and mood, would that be worth it to you?

Let’s connect and talk about brahmana, a simple breathing exercise that could give your nervous system the spark or expansion it needs.

This practice is also useful for those feeling well and balanced that would like to tap into abundance 🙏

The other side of this practice is Langhana, reduction, for those with anxiety or excessive brain activity. Again, let’s chat.

The nervous system is a key factor in anxiety and depression. Adding practices to your daily routine like elongating the inhale or exhale can be life changing when dealing with anxiety or depression. However, there is much more to consider in mental health and bringing the body and mind back into a state of ease.

The highlight the nervous system and breath gets comes from valid reason. If you’ve worked with the breath and haven’t found relief or haven’t found long lived relief that’s made a large enough impact alone, you may benefit from working with a Yoga Therapist.

A Yoga Therapist is trained to look at the whole person from the body, to the energy, the qualities of the mind, the subconscious affects, and the connection of them all to see the dis-ease wider than a nervous system disfunction.

This approach can get you improvements that last because you are implementing new practices that work for you in a way that works for you. That’s their avenue of service, working with the client in an interactive, personalized way of care that is educational and empowering.

If you’re working on your mental health and are new to the journey or are well into it and looking for the missing piece of the puzzle, I encourage you to seek out a Yoga Therapist. I am taking clients or I can recommend someone to you that would be happy to help.

Below is an image of that incredibly helpful nervous system approach from a different angle. If you’ve worked with the nervous system and found relief, you may gain something from this image. Other factors to consider you may dive into are the Doshas. This may open a rabbit hole for you’d I’d be happy to navigate you through from a trained professional perspective.

Anxiety is a normal part of the human experience. When it starts to interfere with your daily life (job, relationships) it could be considered a disorder. This level of anxiety is derived from an unregulated system, either in the body, energy flow, mind (conscious and subconscious), and the affect that has on our connection with ourselves, others, and the world around us.

A yoga therapist is trained to view the system through these different layers and help you navigate through what practices may help restore balance and increase awareness in these layers.

Exploring yourself in this way has proven to be extremely beneficial for many people with anxiety of all levels from mild anxiety that’s affecting you in ways you’d like to understand better to severe trauma caused anxiety and PTSD.

Message me if you’d like to talk more about what Yoga Therapy might look like for you.

If our life’s a journey, what do you think rules our internal GPS that leads us where we go next?
The brain? or
The heart?

Spring is here and I’m outside more getting things ready around the yard. It’s still cold though and it feels impossible to warm up, loosen up, and calm down without some heat and movement combined.

After taking some extra time to balance out the effects of nature on my body, my mind feels clearer and calmer.

I think one of the hard chapters in our journey is the point where we come to realize our life is drastically better when we stay calm, present, and in a high state of awareness, but it still doesn’t come as first nature. Where we’re gripping onto those moments we feel really alive and balanced whether it’s for a day or weeks . It comes and where like “yes! I’m here! Now my life can begin and it’s just straight up from here.”

Then the state fades so gradually we don’t even realize we’re back to our human ways until it starts to take a toll on our lives and we have to wake ourselves back up.

If that’s you, you’re not alone. We’re all going through it to some degree and realizing that it’s part of the process can help ease some of the desperate need we can feel to “get it right” and “stay up” all the time.

One really powerful way to be in that place more is to ask for it. Ask God, the Universe, whatever higher power works for you, to show you ways to feel your best. With an open mind and a soft heart, what will happen is you’ll begin to find ways to keep your body, mind, and soul balanced. You’ll feel less need to grip onto that higher awareness and it’ll become more and more of who you are.

Keep asking, keep listening, and loosen your grip on how it needs to be. If you’d like some tools that may work for you to find and keep that balance, reach out to me and we can chat.

We’ve gone far too long with dreary, cloudy weather, but the sun always shines again.

It’s always so refreshing coming out of a dark period. The sky looks bigger, the birds chirp different, and even something like an April snow feels like the greatest gift from God and a reason for celebrating.

We too, go through dark periods and the light always comes through when the shadow has served its purpose. Relax, and let it be.

If a guided group class, is the only angle you’ve seen and experienced Yoga, that’s perfectly normal and a beautiful gateway into an ever growing relationship with yourself.

Some describe yoga as the journey to the Self through the self, others call it union. It’s all the same explanation. The union of your true Self to your outer self and to all around you.

Your purpose here: to experience. Experience the beautiful, ugly, light, dark, duality, oneness, sensations, and life in general. It looks different for everyone. That’s the point, our oneness, separated by beautiful uniqueness.

When we come back to that understanding as life takes its course, we come back to peace, love, and happiness and step away from judgement, victimhood, and the creation of a hellish reality permeating from our own fear shadowing love.

It’s practice, we get more experienced with time and it becomes closer to second nature resulting in longer periods of living your truth, and shorter periods living in fear or anger.

As a mother, lover, damaged child, lost adolescent, and evolving woman…. I find myself relying on my yoga practice to keep me coming back home to a beautiful internal world and experiencing grace for myself and imperfections; but it’s not a lesson we learn once and retain bliss, it’s an em and flo creation we have to allow to take place.

Yoga requires you to let go. Let go of your impression of yoga and experience it first hand. Be willing to let go of any belief systems and realities you have because they are what is keeping you stuck. Be willing to adopt new.

There are many ways in, sitting in silence is a great way, but hard to achieve for most. There are ancient tools and tips that can help many individuals with whatever is stopping them from getting to that point of better understanding.

Zoom Kundalini Yoga Class ✨

I would like to create a zoom space for weekly or twice a week Kundalini Yoga. Any interest?

Class would be an hour long, held on zoom wherever you can find a space to practice. We would work through the same set each week, progressively, for a total of 40 times. Every class would not need to be attended but it would be recommended to start, attempt to join each time, and end with us as a group.

If anyone is new to one of my classes and would like more information on Kundalini yoga or what to expect in class, feel free to reach out.

I would like to schedule dates and times depending on who is interested to allow people to join that have busy schedules.

My intention for this class is to create safe community to come together in practice, to hold space for one another, while walking through our own personal journeys.

Comment if you’d like to be in the discussion for dates and times. Class will begin the second week of February.

Thank you for reading and may you be blessed 🙏
