March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and Minot Health Clinic is offering a special opportunity for patients who need colon cancer screening.
The Shield blood test is now available in our clinic. While commercial insurance plans do not typically cover this test, for the month of March only, eligible commercial patients can have the test completed with a maximum out-of-pocket cost of $50.
This special pricing is available through March 27th only for patients with commercial insurance. Medicare continues to cover this test year-round.
The Shield test is a simple blood draw recommended for individuals age 45 and older who are due for colorectal cancer screening. In addition to screening for colon cancer, the test also evaluates signals associated with nine cancers:
• Bladder
• Breast
• Colon
• Esophageal
• Liver
• Lung
• Ovarian
• Pancreatic
• Prostate
Scheduling information
If you have been seen at Minot Health Clinic within the past year for an insurance medical visit, you can simply call the clinic to schedule your blood draw.
If you are new to the clinic or have not been seen in over one year, you will need to establish care with a visit prior to the blood draw.
Early detection saves lives. If you are 45 or older and due for colon cancer screening, this is an easy and affordable option available for a limited time during March.
Call Minot Health Clinic to schedule before March 27th.
