Transitioning from school to adulthood can feel overwhelming… but it doesn’t have to be.

Through our Youth Transition Program, we help young people with disabilities build confidence, explore their goals, and develop the skills they need to live independently and create the life they want 💙

And we don’t just stay in Minot
👉 we show up in our rural communities too.

That is where we come in.

We are not just about programs.
We are about people.

The Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC) is working on the next State Plan for Independent Living, and we want to hear from people with disabilities, people who may have received services in the past, as well as family members, friends, and community partners.

Your input will help identify the most important needs facing people with disabilities across our state.

A huge thank you to 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗮𝗱𝘆𝗻 for volunteering their time and energy to help make Chili Bowl X such a success.

Saige (17) is currently interning with Independence, Inc. through the Senior Internship Class in partnership with Companions for Children - Youth Mentoring , and she was an incredible help both leading up to the event and throughout the night. From jumping in wherever needed to keeping things moving behind the scenes, Saige brought a great attitude and a strong work ethic that made a real difference.

Kadyn (19) is attending UND and working toward an education degree. He has a strong passion for inclusion and is always willing to step up and volunteer his time for causes that matter. His willingness to help and support our mission never goes unnoticed.

Seeing young people invest their time and talents into building a stronger, more inclusive community gives us so much hope for the future.

From setup to cleanup and everything in between, our volunteers helped make the night run smoothly and created such a fun and welcoming atmosphere for everyone who attended.

Some of the amazing volunteers are pictured here, but there were so many more who stepped up to help make the night a success. We are incredibly grateful to every single person who gave their time and energy to support this event and our mission.

We truly could not do this work without you. Your generosity and willingness to jump in wherever needed helps us continue removing barriers and helping people achieve their dreams of independent living.
