LOVE THROUGH THE YEARS at Edgewood Minot ❤️
This Valentine’s season, we invited families to share the beautiful love stories behind some of the special couples in our community. We are honored to celebrate these lasting romances that continue to inspire us all. 💕
💐 Lou & Gene
Lou and Gene’s story began in Aneta, North Dakota, where Lou had just started her first teaching position. Gene, newly discharged from the Navy, rode his Harley Davidson all the way from California back to Aneta to visit family. His sister introduced him to the new teacher in town… and the rest is history.
They were married in 1952 and shared nearly 74 wonderful years of marriage before Gene’s passing in 2020.
💐 Neil & Darlene Goodman
Neil and Darlene were married on July 25, 1986, with this photo taken at their wedding reception in Upham, North Dakota. This was the second marriage for both of them.
Their love story began when Neil was encouraged to take Darlene to a Valentine’s dance by her late husband’s mother — proof that love often finds us when we least expect it.
God willing, they will celebrate 40 years of marriage this July.
💐 Mavis & Gordon
Mavis and Gordon met and married in 1955, falling in love right away. Together they built a life spanning 70 beautiful years of marriage.
Gordon passed away this past August and is deeply missed, but their lifetime of love and memories continues to live on in Mavis’s heart. ❤️
✨ These stories remind us that true love is patient, enduring, and always worth celebrating.
Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us at Edgewood Minot Assisted Living. 💙
