Do you know the requirements for cottage foods? 🧐

Our Environmental Health team put together a quick guide answering common questions about cottage foods. Check it out at the link below!

Our survey is still open and so far 80% of the responses are from women, which tells us two things:
1️⃣ Women understood the assignment
2️⃣ Men… did not see the assignment
If you know a man who lives in Bottineau, Burke, McHenry, McLean, Renville, Sheridan, or Ward County, we want to hear from him!
🔹Tag him, text him, or gently remind him this survey is quick, easy, and won’t ask why he still hasn’t fixed the garage door.

Tis the season - flu (influenza) season, and cases are up. Flu can be serious, even leading to hospitalization and death. Those most at risk include children ages 5 and younger, pregnant women, older adults and those with underlying health conditions. That's why influenza vaccination is recommended annually for all individuals ages 6 months and older. It's not too late to get immunized or to talk to your health care provider if you have questions. Residents of the City of Underwood have been told not to use their water due to a problem in the water distribution system. It can be used for flushing toilets, but not drinking, bathing, cooking, washing, etc. Boiling the water will not make it useable! You can learn more, including some options for obtaining water, in the City's post below.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - FALKIRK MINE DONATION

Falkirk Mine has donated 240 5 gallon jugs of water to the city, which will be delivered to Underwood City Hall around 10 am. You must take something to dump the 5 gallon jugs into, these jugs CANNOT be taken.

Falkirk Mine will also open access to the East Shift Change Building located about a mile East of Underwood on Highway 200. This building is on the South side of Highway 200. Roxie Kapanke will be present at the building on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, and Thursday, January 1, 2026, from 8 am to 4 pm both days for people to collect water. You will need to take something to fill water from inside the building, so please take something you can carry from and to your car.

Again, this has all been donated by Falkirk Mine!

The city is still working on more possible solutions for water supply and showering options for our community!

We are still in the Do Not Use Water Advisory!

Wishing you a very Happy New Year! Our offices will be closed on January 1. We look forward to serving you in 2026!
