We have some new members with interest in starting to record their family history. I suggest they start with printing the ancestral chart and family group sheet from the National Archives. We had good attendance at the meeting yesterday (March 7, 2026) as 22 people came to hear the presentation on Immigration by David Leite. He showed the video, “Island of Hope and Island of Tears” and led a discussion. You can find this video on YouTube on your home computer. He also showed us how to use the Ellis Island database search form to search for our immigrant ancestors. This is a free search site. Thank you Dave for this interesting presentation. Links to these are included in the minutes which will be emailed to our members.

As much as we lament the decision to end the Hostfest, we need to remember to support the Swedish Midsommar Fest held every June at the Scandinavian Heritage Park. That celebration has grown from a potluck supper in the park by the Swedish Club to a three day all Scandinavian celebration. We need to support it so it doesn't come to an end. Those that plan this event have done an outstanding job and are certainly in touch with the local people's interest. Plan to attend the festival this summer.
