Cora Jesz, 81, Granville, ND, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026, in her home.
Cora Lee Moos was born April 17, 1944, the daughter of Raymond and Gladys (Buchmann) Moos, in Grassy Butte, ND. She was raised and educated in Grassy Butte, graduating from McClusky.
Shortly after high school, Cora met Donald Jesz and it was love at first sight. They were married on August 12, 1961, and were blessed with five children, Corie, Ken, Darwin, Reita, and Denise. Cora was a dedicated stay-at-home mother. She loved raising her children and teaching them values, such as priorities and honesty.
In 1962, they moved to Bismarck where she continued to be a stay-at-home mom. In 1963, they moved back to McClusky before moving to Donald’s parents’ farm south of Pickardsville in 1964. In 1969, they moved to their new dairy farm in Egg Creek Township two miles east of Granville. Together they owned and operated the range and dairy cattle farm. They quit dairy cattle in 1983 but continued range cattle until 1985 and they started raising sheep until Donald became ill in 2003.
Cora worked for Holiday Inn for 15 years until she retired to take care of Donald until his passing on April 1, 2005.
Cora was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Granville.
She enjoyed spending time in God’s creation, especially in her garden and on the lake fishing. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, canning and Bible Study.
Her loving family includes: children, Corie (Bob Reum) Haugeberg, Ken (Regina) Jesz, Darwin (Amy Seykora) Jesz, Reita (Mark) Newgard, Denise Colburn; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Kathy) Moos, Warren (Paula) Moos; sister, Marcia Taylor; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Gladys Moos; husband of 45 years, Donald Jesz; sisters, Debbie, Ardis, Diane; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elmer and Barbara Jesz; sisters-in-law, Judy and Sharon Jesz; brother-in-law, Ronald.
Funeral: Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Granville.
Interment: Granville Cemetery, Granville, ND, in the spring.
Visitation: Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
